A California bill that would remove a requirement for offenders to register as a sex offender after committing certain sex acts with minors within a 10-year age difference is set to go to Gov. Gavin Newsom's desk after passing in both legislative houses.

The bill, SB 145, applies in cases where the victim is between the ages of 14 and 17 and aims to lift an existing registration requirement for oral and anal sex. The state senate and assembly both voted to approve the bill on Tuesday despite Republican opposition in the Senate and bipartisan opposition in the assembly.

"If signed into law, a 24-year-old could have sexual relations with a 15-year-old child without being required to register as a sex offender," Senate Republican Leader Shannon Grove tweeted Tuesday.

Congress was doing impeachment -Trump bans flights from China /both in Jan

It's unstoppable -even social distancing and masks can't stop it.
The idea was to slow it down so it did not overwhelm hospitals. Trump did that too.

South Korea, which identified their first known case on the same day as the United States, accepted the WHO test and went into full scale implementation with drive-thru testing available to anyone who wanted it. And their people did want it. SK was able to identify just where the hot spots were and trace the contacts. They identified who needed to quarantine and the public responded. This yielded a very effective response.

The USA rejected the WHO test and began to develop our own. Pretty quickly, too. After all, it was a priority. We had our own test within a week. It was volume manufactured and sent out in early February. Tragically, it was contaminated and the tests didn't work. We set about creating a good test, and eventually gave up, and went ahead and used the WHO test by the end of February. That month was lost to the virus. It spread rapidly around the USA because we had no way to know who had it and who didn't.

That allowed many Americans to die needlessly.

We didn't even get serious until Friday, March 13th. That was when President Trump FINALLY declared this an emergency. By then, the damage had already been done.

What were they *preoccupied with* during this time?

Same with our ‘journalists’. Why weren’t our journalists hounding the president—or anybody—about this during the very time contact tracing could have conceivably nipped it in the bud?

The only chance was to slow it down.

We needed to buy time. We still do.

We just have to make it until there is an effective a widespread vaccine.

The longer we could delay the spread the more lives are saved.

We had a chance to nip it in the bud; but that meant relying on China/WHO to be ‘forthcoming’ about what was going on in Wuhan.

By the time our national case numbers were in the thousands we were basically screwed. And that could have easily been as early as December.

It’s all actually moot, anyway. We have an effectively open border in the south. The virus travels—that’s why it’s called a pandemic. Once it got to Mexico it was going to get here. You can’t contact trace people you don’t even know are here. And once they get in they can end up anywhere. Literally.

This was all going to happen. Only a question of how it was going to go down.

WE had no chance of nipping it in the bud. China had a chance and China blew it. Once it got loose there was no nipping it in the bud. By the time we were aware of it and having confirmed cases, there were already unknown cases in the USA, no doubt.

What we had a chance to do and blew it on was containment. Since Trump blew it so badly and basically denied it for a month and a half, we didn't take proactive action when the time was crucial to do so. That cost thousands of American lives. America is not forgetting, And we are voting Trump OUT for it. He blew it. He could have really taken the bull by the horns and it was a chance to shine as a great leader, but he just doesn't really have it. He's all bluster. Not the real thing.

Testing - testing - testing!

What we needed early on was testing.

If we had rapid widespread testing early on, we could have done a far better job of containment, thus saving thousands of American lives.

But we didn't have early widespread testing.

What we had was denial.

And now what we have is another 911 in American deaths every week.

Or another Pearl Harbor, however you want to look at it.

Trump blew it and we have to get rid of him.
