FOX NEWS: China sees Trump as a weak president: Michael Pillsbury

How many put their money where their mouth is I wonder? Where is your car built and by whom? Your clothing? Republicans oddly love free trade when it suits them. I see more Japanese and Korean cars today than American for instance. Look up keiretsu sometime.

"Japan ships 1.5 million cars to America each year, but allows only 20,000 American cars into its own market
. Since 2012, Japan’s yen has devalued by 50 percent against the dollar. Now Japan wants tariff-free access to the U.S. market through the TPP while it continues to cheat on currency." see American Manufacturing.org and TPP

Japanese automakers tout US-based jobs at all-time high as Trump ramps up trade war
PUBLISHED TUE, MAY 21 2019 11:31 AM EDTUPDATED TUE, MAY 21 2019 2:27 PM EDT

Key notes:

Japanese automakers have cumulatively invested about $51 billion in manufacturing in the United States over the span of decades, JAMA data shows.

From 2011 to 2018, direct employment in the U.S. at Japanese automakers grew by nearly 29%.

In 2018, JAMA manufacturers built 3.7 million vehicles and 4.4 million engines.

Compare that, just cars, to what investments China makes in the USA...........

Trump is a mediocre TV game show host with a penchant for selling cheap vodka on television.

World leaders have obviously figured out this overweight, dim witted old man is completely out of his league. I doubt there are any world leaders who take Trump seriously, or consider his threats anything other than bravado and bluster.

Yep..... When he's gone the next president will prob get all kinds of award for just not being him.....

gawd damn you Bill -why do you paste a YouTube without clarification.
The "weakness" is that "Trump hasn't put Peter Strzok in jail" :palm:
e
The only criticism is that Trump did NOT put 100% tariffs all ALL Chinese exports! and of course our electoral system where Congress block all progress on trade talks

(How old is this you tube?) Pillsbury is the only one saying this stuff about 100% tariffs
alos his claim that Chna GDP is 3x the USA is meaningless considering their obligations

I dunno what you are crying about now but I can give you a few suggestions, but I will only give you the nicer one-DON'T READ MY POSTS NOR THE YOUTUBES I POST-that should cure your affliction/whatever it is that ails you....

It did not say they see America as a weak country, it say they see tRump as a weak president.

Assumedly they know Trump has never had majority support.

So what. He's still our president and was duly elected.

Do you mean like, for example, Apple?? That makes/assembles 99% of their products in china, pays almost no taxes in the USA preferring to hide their profits in 3rd countries & then petitions the USA to protect them & their IP & patents??

If so, I believe you are 100% correct & fair...........

Yes. Absolutely. They should be taxed at a higher rate if they are an American company importing foreign made products, especially if under their name (like Nike's foreign made shoes, for example).

Good. Then maybe China should try to invade us. You think they'd win?

Why bother when they can win economically, without firing a shot? The OP is correct -- the Toadstool IS a weak president. Unfortunately his followers conflate bellowing and blustering with "strength." The rest of us do not, including the nation's competitors and enemies.

So you don't think this country should have fair and equal trade with China? Why is that?

"Strength"? We had a weak president for 8 years prior and his "followers" (as you call them) are "bellowing and blustering" more than ever. Including you.

& if he has to go through impeachment he will look even weaker...

Your friends in the CCP will be over joyed.......

Evening up tariffs, That's what Trump is trying to do. I agree, American companies should move back here. Myself, I'd additionally tax income from foreign produced products sold here.

Trade isn't fair. Why not try evening up the playing field?
No, we've not had it our way, we just had the most advanced technology and skilled workers, along with the strongest economy.
Unfortunately, we're losing in both (although our economy is strong presently) of late.

Nothing is unfair about Chinese business. If China's business is ours, then we should be making the rules, shouldn't we?

Tariffs are anathema to free trade. It is isolationist and damaging to all involved.
We are making the rules, if you understand we means the wealthy and ownership class. They moved those corporations to China for short term incredible profits. All that China is ,is what the wealthy wanted and got. The wealthy are greedy so they had no problems doing it. They are not stupid. They knew what it would do. They do not care. They figured they would be dead before the price had to be paid.
You think the rich would want to help America, don't you? Pretty naive. They don't care about America. They are like Trump, loyal to money and power.,
