I will. Now please explaing to me how this is not a hostile and critical comment of Tiger's Buddhist beliefs?
"I don't think that faith offers the kind of forgiveness and redemption that is offered by the Christian faith," Hume said. "So my message to Tiger would be, "Tiger, turn to the Christian faith and you can make a total recovery and be a great example to the world."
That comment is both ignorant and bigoted. Maybe you should actually try reading/listening to what people actually say (write) before you make your knee jerk wingnut comments.
There is a certain irony when Democrats try and call out religious bigotry.

I will.
He openly admits that he doesn't know Tiger's faith offers. So (because he doesn't know) he offers what he does know about.
Had he said, "The Buddhist Faith has no forgiveness and so..." I think it would be different. But my response would still be much the same. Some ignorance is admitted to, as with Brit here, some is truly ignorant, but it all amounts to the same thing. Brit offered what he believes is a great gift, it should be taken in that spirit, not the one that would mistakenly express an untruth about Buddhism. One shouldn't attribute a negative aspect that didn't exist because of a lack of knowledge.
I guess you will have to be angry for me, who as a Buddhist supposedly had his religion insulted, because I have no anger for this.
What's the irony?
Dude, he basically took a steamy dump on Buddhism and in no uncertain terms said he thinks it is inadequate as compared to Christianity. You can try to paint it in the best light possible if you want, but it seems that there are some other Buddhists that disagree with your assessment.
you don't see any? any anti-Christian sentiment in a little bit of the Democratic base? and then this outrage over a comment directed towards buddist? (sp)
And that means that I should suddenly change my mind? Some Buddhists make mistakes, they may even cheat on their spouse causing incredible pain to another, tearing apart families...Dude, he basically took a steamy dump on Buddhism and in no uncertain terms said he thinks it is inadequate as compared to Christianity. How many elected Democrats are there at the national level that are not of some Judeo-Christian faith. Off the top of my head, I can think of one. You're saying that Democrats are self-haters or something? They're a bunch of Christians that are anti-Christian?
And that means that I should suddenly change my mind? Some Buddhists make mistakes, they may even cheat on their spouse causing incredible pain to another, tearing apart families...
This is what Buddha had to say on the subject of such anger. (literally the 3rd, 4th, and 5th lines of the Dhammapada.)
3. "He abused me, he struck me, he overpowered me, he robbed me." Those who harbor such thoughts do not still their hatred.
4. "He abused me, he struck me, he overpowered me, he robbed me." Those who do not harbor such thoughts still their hatred.
5. Hatred is never appeased by hatred in this world. By non-hatred alone is hatred appeased. This is a law eternal.
Even if Brit deliberately said an untruth about Buddhism, he would still receive the forgiveness he thought was missing from Buddhism.
It makes you wonder. Is Britt Hume as ignorant about Christianity as he is about Buddhism?

A rather diplomatic thing for you to say since Humes comments were openly hostile and critical of Tiger's Buddhist beliefs.
Jesus H. Christ would be appalled at this post.
I have always been curious.... WHAT does the "H" stand for??
Everybody gets this same benefit, if you had said some silly thing about Buddhism you too would get the same response full of non-anger and a direct effort to find what you meant rather than focus no your mistake. In fact, I have difficulty remembering any time I was angry with people on this site, or even with people I think are acting foolishly and are in positions of power.I'm not going to argue the point with you.
I will note, though, that it's always interesting to see who gets the benefit of the doubt from you.
Holy.I have always been curious.... WHAT does the "H" stand for??
Speak to Dung. Apparently, since it is Brit, I should be ready to burn him in some sort of Christian version of eternal torment.I don't think they were openly hostile. They were obviously ignorant with respect to Buddhist beliefs, but I fail to see how it was hostile. Perhaps you could enlighten me on that point.
