Fox Says No To Obama

Did you find someone who said they were forced to air it?

Are you capable of saying anything without lying, using a logical fallacy, or otherwise being intellectually dishonest?

The issue is Fox purports to be and has convinced some idiots that they are fair and balanced. This is clear evidence they are not. Fox networks are owned by the same guy that owns Fox News, are they not?

You are trying to call someone else out when you yourself are being completely dishonest? Fox Broadcasting, which shows like American Idol, 24, the Simpsons, the NFL etc is not Fox News. To claim a phrase Fox News uses as advertising must be applicable to Fox Broadcasting, a completely different group is inaccurate.

Pepsi owns 7-up and Gatorade. Does Gatorade's ads then have to apply for 7-up as well because they have the same owner. I'm an idiot and even I get the concept.

if they are not forced to air it, how does that have any bearing on them being fair and balanced....

by mocking them as being unfair you have said they MUST air his speech in order to be fair...if they do not have to air it, then what has that to do with fairness? nada, you just don't like getting caught your bias logical fallacies so you lash out at dear ol' yurt....

I don't know who owns it. Doesn't matter though as my example with Pepsi showed.

Clearly, the owner of a company has a lot of pull when it comes to company decisions. Your example is retarded. If the owner of Pepsi decided not to sell Pepsi to retards in Texas, then 7-up stopped being shipped to Texas, what conclusion would you draw?

This is retarded beyond words. I leave this in the good hands of the audience to scrutinize for themselves.

why don't you try and explain it genius...

what does fair and balanced have to do with airing it...why can't you answer a simple a question...

according to you, they are not fair and balanced because they are not airing it, thus, your logic is they MUST air it in order to be truthful to their fair and balance claim....that you can't see the logic of this shows you're biased beyond belief and that you can't rationally discuss it and instead simply spittle out "its retarded peeplzees, loooolz, iz be one funny tude"

You're being intellectually dishonest here and you know it. Fox news and Fox TV are not the same entity.

Here's what happened.

A troll posts a story about Fox TV

Wise Guy (LOL) misreads and thinks its fox news.

11 people point out the error.

Wise Guy (LOL) turns red and now has to reassemble his argument. In doing so, the best he can do is pretend he knew what was going on the whole time.

Cawacko roundhouse kicks wise guy in the face with a scathing retort.

Wise guy uses the word "retard" in consecutive posts in an effort to start arguing about other stuff and save face.

Beefy calls wise guy out.

Clearly I misread the initial post. The fact remains that Fox News is owned by the same guy as Fox networks, and political influence comes from the top in a corporation. It would not surprise me at all to learn this decision was purely political, and considering that all the other networks are airing the conference evidence points that direction.

It's the same owner, isn't it?

Yes, it is the same owner. ABC owns the Family Channel and the ESPN networks, yet you are not concerned that they will not be airing the presser? NBC owns Bravo but I doubt Bravo will air the press conference. It's not as if there won't be plenty of outlets airing it. It seems to me that Fox figures they'll be airing on their news channel, and that's enough. At least folks who don't want to watch it will have alternative viewing options.

Besides, it's not as if Obama hasn't been covered. I read today that he has had more air time in his first fifty days than Bush or Clinton did. Cbs led the pack with the most coverage, with Fox News a close second. Sorry Guy, somehow your outrage rings hollow.

Jesus, this is retarded beyond words. If every other sports network but ESPN was airing it, there would clearly be something unusual about ESPN refusing to air it.

If every other station similar to Bravo was airing it and Bravo refused, something would be unusual about it.

That's not the case. However, since every other network is airing it and Fox is not, something is strange about that. Since every other network aired all of Bush's press conferences as frequently as Fox did, there's something unusual about it too.

Excellent point.

Update:

Wise guy invokes "retard" again.

translation....i lost another argument in this thread and am shamed....so i will use retorts like this to cover myself

Nobody on here is even mentioning your argument. Your argument is absolutely stupid as shit and requires no effort by me.

Be honest. Are you trolling to make the left look stupid?

Have a margarita and enjoy the show. Your contributions aren't useful.

Seriously. I know you well enough to know you don't need me to explain why a network is capable of demonstrating bias without being forced to do something.

Only if you consider the Fox network something other than the entertainment wing of the Fox family of networks. I personally do not, and never have. The fact that the choose not to air the presser is inconsequential. Especially when you comsider the number of stations that will air it, ABC, CBS, NBC, FNC, CNN, MSNBC, CNBC, HNN, PBS, and probably C-Span to boot.

Really?

Networks won't air Bush's primetime speech
Address on future of Iraq will be aired on MSNBC-TV

LOS ANGELES - The broadcast networks are not expected to carry President Bush’s primetime speech Monday night, in which he will lay out a “clear strategy” for the future of Iraq.

The Bush administration has not requested the Big Four to air live the president’s address to an audience at the U.S. Army War College in Carlisle, Penn., scheduled for 8 p.m. EDT on the last Monday of the May sweep, a crucial period when networks chase high ratings in order to set ad rates.

NBC, Fox and ABC will proceed with their scheduled programming for the 8-9 p.m. hour -- an episode of “Fear Factor,” the finale of “The Swan” and the broadcast premiere of Oscar-winning “A Beautiful Mind,” respectively.

NBC and Fox’s sibling cable channels, MSNBC and Fox News, will carry the speech.

CBS is not expected to make a final decision on whether to preempt its Monday 8-9 p.m. comedy block -- season finales of “Yes, Dear” and “Still Standing” -- until Monday but sources indicated the network was leaning toward sticking with its regular programming.

At least one network, Fox, has offered the speech to any of its affiliates that wish to carry it.
