Uh, you absolutely can. Christianity and western civilization are incidental to each other. There was technological progress in China on par with European technology prior to first contact in the 15th century. A specific religion has no monopoly on civilization's advancement. Anyway, Christianity plagiarized from countless other sources.

Buddhism is similar to Christianity in that it promotes the advancement of civilization.

Curious your accusation of plagiarism. How can a religion or philosophy plagiarize? I would ague that it is open to new technologies, methods or customs and adopts the ones that help further its basic tenets.

I think that, on the whole, the opposite is true. We have lived for millennia under various exploitive systems that turn the majority of us into, at best, useful tools for the various sorts of bosses, and it causes resentment of a very intense kind, which the mugs don't dare point at their masters. The various teachers labelled 'religious' tend to come out with suggestions for a better world, but these are twisted by the bosses wanting 'God's' backing for their crimes, and by all the others to work of their rage against and spite on other mugs. 'Change the world: it needs it!'

There was only one quote there from the New Testament, and that doesn't support your allegation. Epic fail on your part.

The New Testament says we're supposed to continue following the laws of the Old Testament. And Ephesians is from the New Testament.

It's debatable whether the Israelites could be considered Jews, but if they were Jews, they were Jews in the New Testament too. So it doesn't really make sense so say only one part of the Bible is the Jew part.
