Yeah, they've been all over this problem! Can you imagine the flack the chimp would have gotten over this disaster and the week and a half of continued spilling? Where are the ecotards crying in thread after thread about big oil? Where are you hypocrites?

How many have been killed in this situation? It is pittafull to compare these two situations. Since when do you like the NYT?

Let's assume that Bush was still President when this happened, I'll channel a few of them:

Well, clearly, since so many jobs are going to be effected, Bush is against people in LA having jobs. Bush must hate black people...

Do you remember a time when you were a thoughtful person? I do. Barely.

Are you arguing that oil spills are not a valid federal interest if they do not directly result in deaths? It seems odd for the left to argue that. The lack of deaths is not much of an argument concerning the urgency of the matter either, since it is plainly clear that delay will likely result in a large amount of avoidable damage. There is little reason to give Obama a pass on this, though, obviously many on the right are simply making hay.

That is, the hacks don't actually care about the damage. That does not mean Obama should share that lack of concern.

That made me laugh...I had to say thanks.

I'm trying to recall all the criticism GHWB received over his "day one" response to the Valdez spill.

Ooops, there was none.

But don't let me interrupt your rant that somehow Obama isn't doing his job.

RW double standards make me laugh.

Now tell me tinstir just what Barak could have done to stop the oil leak?

You do realize that someone allowed this drilling when they KNEW there was no way to fix a leak this deep?

Barak is not a "magic negro" like you people have claimed.

BUSH PLANS OIL AND GAS DRILLING IN GULF OF MEXICO

Interior Secretary Gale Norton announced yesterday plans to open 1.47 million acres of the eastern Gulf of Mexico to oil and natural gas exploration.

Desh:

Look, I like you. I think you are a good person. I think your elan is quite remarkable. But you're way off base here. Way, way, way off base. Just stop.

who authorized the drilling in this 2001 built deepsea drilling project?

Probably Clinton. I doubt very seriously that all the bureaucratic red tape to get approval to build the rig and authorization to drill and construction of the rig and all occurred entirely in 2001.

Deepwater Whistleblower Challenges Testimony by Lockheed Martin

May 25, 2007

Michael DeKort, who has helped to expose the Coast Guard Deepwater scandal, issued a letter today challenging testimony by Lockheed Martin before two Subcommittees of the House Homeland Security Committee last week. On a number of issues, Mr. DeKort finds that Lockheed Martin Maritime Systems President Fred Moosally was not entirely accurate or truthful when he testified May 17. Full text of the letter follows.
