Frozen Embryos Are Really Little Kids, Court Rules

It appears that you are a geographical bigot, Marty.

Poor Marty.
what I'd this had been a liberal California couple who lost their frozen embryos.... the only way that they might be able to have children... his response would have been completely different...

I've always lived by the principle that stupid is stupid no matter how artfully it's explained.

Also, I've never understood why so many people think that it's so important to be a breeder.
There are enough travails that must be tolerated managing one's own life.

Well you and your wife are blessed enough to have children without difficulty... Some are not ...Having a family means very different things to different people sometimes.. if you don't understand that's okay...it really isn't necessary...

I will confess that although our children were planned,
the Gestapo was the planner.

Offspring #s 1 and 2 were ENTIRELY her idea.
Children always tended to make me break out.
Even when I was one myself.
[Probably what led me to boxing.]

Against all odds,
and I mean LONG odds,
I ended up really enjoying my own.

To this day, I can't explained how it happened.
I'm not joking.

so you do have some kind of understanding that people who want to have children and be able to enjoy them as well might have to do a bit more than just plan... your kids were an egg and a sperm who met and were lucky...
Different Strokes for different folks sometimes...

Just think of it, Mr. Niblick, if the missus and I had kids like a lot of the people around here. Half dozen little leaningrights running around being taught his values and political leanings. Scary, huh? ;)

We just had the one child. Wanted two, but my wife had a bit of trouble with the first one that was likely to reoccur if we tried for two. She was willing to try but I said no. We were in our late thirties by the time we had the first and it just seemed too risky for me.

My siblings and I broke the chain of having large families. My dad was one of 10 and my mom was one of 11…21 if you count her half brothers and sisters. Grandpa had two wife’s and 21 kids. Times were/are different. None of my brothers or my sister have more than 2 natural children.

But I will say that leaves more funds to help when it is needed. Out of my 4 siblings and our wives/husbands we have either adopted or taken in until raised 9 children not our own, my oldest brother responsible for 6 of them.

Interest story, Rev.

My wife and I were both only children.
Our kids have no aunts, uncles, or cousins of their own, although they had plenty of ours.

My wife wanted two by the time she was thirty,
and gave birth to our second a couple of months after turning thirty.

We're both terrible neat freaks about planning
because we're both horrible at coping with inconvenience.

Two only children marrying create a different dynamic than most marriages.
They both want their own stuff, and they don't spend every free waking moment together.

That doesn't mean that it doesn't work.
The Gestapo and I have been married for more than a half-century.

That begs the question. An embryo can be valued property for which civil damages are assessable for its wrongful destruction without resorting to the conclusion it was already a person.

Yep, no more invitro, now a woman who has difficulties getting pregnant won't have this option any more, because a bunch of old white men decided it was murder.
