How is it broken? Did just the case break, or did the actual hard drive inside break open? You might be able to take the hard drive out and just mount it in a computer.

Even if it's absolutely broken, you can send it into a data recovery specialist to recover most of it.

Yeah, not porn. I have my 2 porn externals (each 1TB) bolted in carriages to my desk. This one was destined for the same fate, had I not been so lazy. It contained (probably still does) all my machinist drawings for guns. THOSE are fucking valuable and very difficult to come by (especially in electronic form). If I lose them I'll probably never be able to get certain replacements (like the FG-42, or anything else from WWII).
