6 Republican senators face recall in Wisconsin

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Six Republican Wisconsin lawmakers fought Tuesday to survive recall challenges stemming from the political backlash against GOP Gov. Scott Walker's move to strip public employee unions of most collective bargaining rights.

Fueled by millions of dollars from national labor groups, the challenge to GOP incumbents could shift control of the Wisconsin Senate to Democrats and provide a new gauge of the public mood less than a year after Republicans made sweeping gains in this state and others.

explain to me why it is bad that elections are influenced by corporations spending millions of dollars when virtually all democrats support the millions spent by unions

If six percent of the people are in unions, how many work for corporations?

Which is further, to Chicago or by car?

I will let Dwight Eisenhower answer your question:

"Labor is the United States. The men and women, who with their minds, their hearts and hands, create the wealth that is shared in this country—they are America."
President Dwight D. Eisenhower

What are they creating? The biggest segment of employment is in the service industry.

Unions did a great job at one time. Now their main function is to create an adversarial relationship between mgmt and workers.

Unions did a GREAT job of building a robust middle class. And since Reagan and Republicans turned their back on Ike's wisdom, busted unions, ripped away worker's rights and became the party beholden ONLY to the opulent and elite, the middle class is being crushed.

The biggest segment of the JOBS in this country is quickly becoming the service industry. Fucking slaves for the aristocracy conservatives worship.

"We're going to crush labor as a political entity"
Grover Norquist - Republican economic guru and co-author of the GOP's 'Contract with America'

Get them to stop supporting slave labor in China (which dems now do, didn't Clinton love it). And you'll get manufacturing here. As long as we as a country are happy to get a Chineese person to do our manual labor for $2 day they will.
Now it's total bs that the middle class is falling apart.
They are buying much cheaper goods so the shrinking salary is offset by plunging prices

You have to win the award for the biggest MORON on the board. WHY do you even bother thanking social justice posts when you groan at economic justice posts? Are you THAT fucking stupid to make the connection between the two?

There is mountains of studies, statistics and evidence that the middle class in America is in PERIL. Pick any form of measure; the drastic shift in the concentration of wealth over the last 40 years to a tiny percentage of elite, bankruptcies, household debt, disposable income, wage increases vs cost increases, wage growth vs GDP growth... it all comes out the same.

The verdict: the robust middle class built from the New Deal through the Great Society is being crushed, extinguished and eliminated.

Let's start with the cost of YOUR ticket to utopia:

I know what I know.

Big Labor tried to steal the Wisconsin Senate. Big Labor failed. Get over it.

Obama, Harry Reid, you're next.

unions aren't labor, they are like corporations. your attempt to deflect from reality and the political power of unions is laughable. unions and "labor" are not the same thing. nice try buckaroo.

fuck the little bastards for wanting a job anyway......

Apparently denying people job's is perfectly OK as long as the purpose of the denial isn't to better the status of the working man. Join the fucking union. It's simple enough. Or find another fucking job at a place that will hire you voluntarily. Don't go to mommy government and beg them to use government intervention to force the union to void it's contract with the business.
