Gay pride parade in houston 2004 draws 200,000

You missing the obvious lesson of the comparisons has to be intentional. Nobody is that blind.

The motivation and catalyst for participation in all such events is passion for the issue.

Surely I don't have to continue.

You can spin it all you want. Comparing two totally different issues being protested 5 years apart is meaningless, and trying to find meaning in it is grasping at straws.

Surely I don't have to continue.

didn't gay pride or gay stuff like this start out as a fringe movement in the 70s.....

that didn't stop them and i bet TM isn't going to be honest and admit this

How many closeted republicans do you think there are right now?

Being gay aint a choice , being republican is.

If it were the only gay pride parade ever held you may have a point.

This was just one of many and is but one example.

Its is in Bush hey day times, in a Republican city, in a republican state.

The tea baggers could not get that many country wide after 24/7 free promotion for weeks before the date.

your tea bagger comments are juvenile....

i'm not surprised you can't admit that this gay protest built on decades of other protests and that the gay movement was very fringe when it started you dishonest hack

They have nothing to do with each other Desh.

You would be honest in expressing an opinion like "those tea parties sure didn't get a whole lot of support", or "all that coverage and little turn out". That's all fine and good.

But bringing up a five year old, totally unrelated protest that has absolutely nothing, not one iota, not a crumb of relevance to the tea parties is a bizarre way of expressing an opinion.

More people showed up at the million man march than your happy fest. Therefore, the gay protesters are fringe weirdos.

Again, don't you see how lame that is? I mean seriously, come on. This is stark naked hackery with its dingaling swingin in the wind. Its transparent as all holy hell.

Hey Beefy, my hellos to paradise.

The reason I'm posting this is to drive home the size of the turnout.

In a couple of months they will claim they were huge.
I have just seen it happen over and over.

I want the record to be VERY clear on just how many people showed up.

Fring is not a bad word but it does indicate the edge of a party.

These people are the edge of the party and I think you know that because you believe the peopel who originally started this whole thing have been trying to get them to come aboard for awhile.

Now the next plan is a july 4th thing.

Why do you think they picked this date?

So they can walk through 4th of july events adn make it look like their numbers are HUGE.

Its what they do.

There we go Shrubbie. That's more like it.

you mean like obama on the campaign trail claiming hundreds of thousands came to see him when in fact there was a concert for a very popular band...like that:pke:

and don't forget

THE GAY MOVEMENT STARTED OUT FRINGE

http://houstonvoice.com/2005/7-1/news/localnews/parade.cfm

Are you beinging to understand what this means?

Is the gay pride movement fringe to you?

They kicked the ass of this little tea bag stunt.

One city that is not very gay friendly can draw that many without a month of 24/7 news promotion.

Can you say fringe?

Now, go back and tell us how many attended gay pride parades in the 1960's (or so) when they began. THEN perhaps you would be comparing like events. Comparing something that just began to something that has been around for 40 years is quite ignorant.

I wonder what date they'll pick for the next ones. I may try to get off work... And hopefully I won't have to do tax forms.

And when these were fledgling, and largely in only SF how many people first showed up?

Did you know... that every week during the NFL season that over a million fans attend game 'rallies'... since the gay pride people dont do that every week.... them gays is just fringe.

You are missing the obvious lesson BAC.... comparing the 'passion' for a 'movement' that has been ongoing for over FOUR DECADES to something that just began is moronic.

Well, since you have seen this happen over and over... surely you will provide us with other examples......

your problem is that was one event.

the tea bagger party was one event with numberous venues and they could not match a single venue event of gay pride even in a city like Houston.

Gay pride parades take place all over the world huh?

You are such a complete HACK....

YOU compared ONE gay pride event to the tea parties...

I compared ONE gay pride event to the tea parties...

BOTH were equally irrelevant to the tea parties.

The point you HACK... is that you are not comparing like events.

The point you HACK... is that gay pride events have been ongoing for over 40 fucking years you HACK....
