George Santos claimed his mother died on 9/11

United States Congressman-elect George Santos (R-New York) may be able to dismiss criticisms about his fake résumé, his spurious claims about being "Jew-ish," his nonexistent college education, and his sketchy finances as mere "embellishments."

But what New York Magazine and Huffington Post contributor Yashar Ali pieced together late Wednesday night revealed that nothing is sacred for the embattled freshman lawmaker.

Ali noticed two tweets written by Santos in 2021, which are still active on his profile, contain conflicting accounts of his mother's death.

The first was authored on July 12th:

9/11 claimed my mother's life... so I'm blocking so I don't ever have to read this again.

The second was published on December 23rd:

December 23rd this year marks 5 years I lost my best friend and mentor. Mom you will live forever in my heart.

Political podcaster Brian Tyler Cohen alluded to what Santos said in an interview with Fox News on Tuesday night:

'I am not a fraud. I am not a fake. I didn't materialize from thin air.'

In addition to all of George Santos’ lies about his career, family, religion, etc, today we are also finding out that he:

—Claimed his mom died on 9/11 & also in 2016

—Claimed to be half Black

—Made up a family name

—Is now under federal investigation for his shady finances

Representative Richie Torres (D-New York):

George Santos pretended to be a gay Afro-Latino Ukrainian Brazilian Catholic Jew whose mother died on 9/11, whose ancestors survived the Holocaust, whose employees died in the Pulse club mass shooting, and whose net worth rose by millions overnight. Am I missing anything?

The House of Representatives cannot and should not seat a snake oil salesman like George Santos who is under federal criminal investigation and who could face an imminent risk of indictment. Pass it on.

CNN interviewed the previous holder of that district, a Democrat. In his opinion, the Democrats did investigate but were complacent enough to believe Santos wouldn't win.

Kinda like Hillary blowing off the blue collar, white male dominant states in 2016. :)

"It is not investigative journalism's fault or the Democrats' fault that we have a con man who absolutely obliterated the truth in order to get elected," he said. "That is George Santos' fault, and that needs to be where the conversation is. This guy is clearly an impostor who continues to lie and lie. It's not the media fault, it's not the Democrats' fault. Really? Democrats are supposed to vet the other party's candidates for them? Since when? By trying to hold Santos and the GOP accountable now the Dems are doing all they can do. I'm curious to see how McCarthy, if he ever has the courage to comment on this, will handle it.

The GOP has turned into a festering boil on the world's bottom.

If those who voted for Trump and the other like-minded idiots are indicators, I'm thinking Santos would still have won. In short, I think his election, like with other Trumpers, was blowback.

While I don't agree completely with Bill Maher's assessment about why Republicans ran shitty candidates and, in many cases, won, I do agree his thoughts have merit. Obviously he was wrong about the Red Wave, but then, many Trumpers still got elected or reelected.

Not sure if you saw Maher's comments on his show about the hypersensitive woke culture. It's on HBO. The View has some comments and clips. LOL

She, and the Democratic Party as a whole, thought they owned blue collar workers even after years of prioritizing other issues over them.

Thanks for declaring anyone who voted against Hillary is stupid and a dupe. Do you really believe all of this just suddenly popped up in 2016? It's been growing for decades.
