George Washington & Thomas Jefferson's Quotes about Guns/Arms

Many of the original; Americans hunted for food. They had a clear need for rifles.
However, you skip "well-trained militia: in every ignorant pro-gun post. You are so dishonest.

i'm tired of trying to teach you history and facts.

the founders resisted all attempts at taxation and when the british came to confiscate their arms and powder, the colonists fought back with their own arms. They knew from history and experience that an unarmed populace was easily oppressed. Therefore, they sought to protect the right of all men to keep and bear their own arms. your false allegory of a well trained militia is intellectually dishonest. you MUST view the statement as the founders intended, which is that of all the citizenry having sufficient arms and training to protect their state of freedom.

It is the absolute height of stupidity to believe that the founders would only guarantee a government military the right to keep and bear arms after they had just won independence from their government that tried to confiscate their arms.

This is true. Leftists try to distort the meaning of "well-regulated".
