U.S. launches second WTO complaint in China chicken trade dispute

loool. So the WTO gave obama the win this year. ON TARIFFS THAT HAD ALREADY BEEN LIFTED LAST YEAR.

good job :) shows how free trade works.

"Losing a WTO case is a deterrent for most countries, but not necessarily for China, Eizenstat said. The nation's leaders use tariffs to send messages, particularly against the U.S. They also bank on the WTO process being long enough that the higher tariffs can be collected for a couple of years before China rescinds them."

From the article basically they will just put in another one :)

Good point. We shouldn't trade with any nation because they might violate a trade deal. That's genius.

Trump from his speech yesterday: ""I'm going to direct the Secretary of Commerce to identify every violation of trade agreements a foreign country is currently using to harm our workers. I will then direct all appropriate agencies to use every tool under American and international law to end these abuses.""

How exactly do you think Trump plans to do this?

Since you apparently think that Obama's approach was so successful, what has Hillary said she would do about this?

What harm can come when one "RHINO" refuses to endorse another "RHINO"? Sounds like the actions of a jealous person. If Georgie Boy is a "conservative", Trump is an astronaut ....yada, yada, yada.....as the NY VALUES dictate.

A logical question? Would any true conservative support any CLINTON? Nuf said.........

Can't answer that one? I've said nothing about its success or failure. What I said was we are already doing what Trump claims he's going to do in going after China.

by placing reciprocal tarrifs right away instead of sitting on your hands and waiting for wto to play out.

Can't answer that huh? I've said nothing about its success or failure. What I said was we are already doing what Trump claims he's going to do in going after China.

no we arent becasue at the end of the day its another red line that obama wont cross. IF china knows the tarrifs will be there imediatly after they do anything funky then they would change.

So your goal then is to distort markets, decrease American wealth and reduce American competitiveness. Because that's what your trade war will get us.

Trump mentioned EPI and Bernie in his economic speech yesterday. That's how left he is. He is continuously reaching out to Bernie voters, a bunch of socialists. Rana, Christifan, Jarod and Rune on this board all supported Sanders. That's who Trump is appealing too.

He doesn't speak to the power of free markets and entrepreneurial spirit which is what had made America the world's super power. Instead I have to listen to him talk about taking us back centuries ago economically. I want no part of that.

He's reaching out to Bernie supporters because unfair, so called free trade and globalization are things that we and Bernie's supporters are aligned on.

America is multi cultural and multiracial already. Proper borders protects all of them, not just white.

George will is a butthurt overpaid globalist shill. Fuck his monkey ass.

And since you used Obama's "call out" as the example, then you must be content with it.

I'm not sure how stating facts of what currently is occurring and what Trump is proposing has anything to do with whether I like it or not.

Because you brought it up and then tried to use it to chastise Trump.

Obama has already called out China for multiple trade violations. It's not like we aren't doing what he wants. No what Trump is proposing will result in fewer jobs and higher prices, a total double negative. He is clearly praying on the economic ignorant.

And you can't win the Senate by gerrymandering.

So how can you attempt to use Obama's "policy" as an example that you believe Trump's "policy" will be a disaster and then accuse Trump of doing the same thing as Obama.

Trump gave out a laundry list of items in his speech yesterday, seven I believe it was, about how he would go after trade. One was exactly what Obama is doing here. You can be the judge of whether you approve or not.

Do you approve of what Trump is proposing here? I don't know who you voted for in 2012 but for the sake of discussion let's say it was Romney. Romney was pro-markets and pro-trade all the way. When did this switch in your belief about trade come about? Or did you vote for Romney despite his trade beliefs?
