Not really. They used us. It was a seriously dysfunctional relationship.
It was like being in a relationship with someone that had a borderline personality disorder.
No matter what we did for them it wasn’t enough. Yet we kept trying to make it work. Succumbing to their every need only to get criticized.

Compared to any western country their standard of living sucks. I’ve seen it.
