I don't get it? Obama should apologize for a joke that Robert De Niro made that doesn't even sound offensive to me? Nor very funny, but offensive? I'm white, I'm not offended.

It's classic Gingrich. He's the master of focusing right wing hate and rage. This is a fabulous way to excite right wing white resentment - oh it's okay to make racist jokes about whitey! No one cares that whitey is under attack in this country!
They will be frothing over this in certain circles. This is good for a few points in the polls for him.

The irony is that before Obama was elected, Chris Rock(a black man) made the opposite joke, that america wasn't ready for a black first lady. Now Robert makes the mirror joke, and Gingrich RAGES. Christie was right. Mountain meet molehill.

“We believe the joke was inappropriate,” Olivia Alair, Campaign Press Secretary to the First Lady, said in a statement.
The campaign’s comment came after Newt Gingrich delivered a scorching response to De Niro’s comments at an Obama for America fundraiser, which was attended by first lady Michelle Obama.
