Oh I understand the difference. You are being strict when it comes to matter. Life can not sustain without Sun.
Are you saying matter from the sun is added to the earth?

Are you saying matter from the sun is added to the earth?
Meteorites do.
What do they have to do with the sun?
Nothing. You asked.
True. I asked if matter from the sun is added to the earth and you answered meteorites do.
I’d sure like to know how the sun is capable of forming meteorites.
(Can’t wait to hear about this.)
I couldn’t care less about GW. A closed system allows energy but not mass across its system boundary.Energy is what is being added to the Earth. Thus we have Greenhouse effect. The Moon also has influence. From energy standpoint, the Earth is not a closed system. You are hung on matter which is problematic when it comes to global warming. That is why Parrot Boy is wrong.

I tried to educate you on what a thermodynamic closed system is and you come up with “but meteorites come from the sun therefore the earth is an open system” argument.
If meteorites came from the sun you may have an argument but even that argument is nullified by the minuscule amount of meteorites the enter the system. They’re immaterial.
I’d still like you to explain how the sun forms meteorites . Maybe I missed something in Physical Chemistry.
I saw how you were incorrect about the earth being an open system. I was just trying to help .. Um this thread is about Global warming. Pay attention.
I'd like you to explain where you got the notion that I said that the Sun form meteorites.
FFS it’s right there! ^Are you saying matter from the sun is added to the earth?Meteorites do.

I don’t know why there’s GW but you appear to be in agreement with Big Dog, et al that it’s the sun and not humans.Wow you have reading comprehension issue. I have in no way said that the Sun forms meteorites.
Anyway, the main thing is the Sun contribute to the system in form of energy. It is what drives global warming.
The Parrot Boy declaring that global warming is impossible because the Earth is an closed system indicates a simplistic mind. It doesn't work that way. That's the point.
I don’t know why there’s GW but you appear to be in agreement with Big Dog, et al that it’s the sun and not humans.
Oh humans have a factor in GW. That is undeniable.
How much is the unanswerable question.
Once meteorites hit the Earth, they are a part of Earth.
No one is ignoring the output. Grow up.
One of the inputs is from the Sun. That makes it an open system.
Psychoquackery. Grow up.
Meteorites do.
The Sun is not meteorites. Meteorites are part of Earth. They do not add to it.
