Godspeed Artemis II

Isn't there a plan for the moon base?
Was.

In late February 2026, NASA expedited Artemis III back to 2027, but it would no longer land on the Moon. Instead, it would conduct rendezvous and docking tests in low Earth orbit with one or both commercially developed lunar landers—SpaceX's Starship HLS and Blue Origin's Blue Moon—and to test the new Axiom Extravehicular Mobility Unit (AxEMU) space suit

We came very close to killing the StarLiner crew...a mission that never should have received final approval.....lets see if they come home alive.

I remember in grade school listening over the loudspeaker to the 1st flight with Alan Shepard and in 57' seeing sputnik in the sky. I also have crew patches from the apollo program.

Those were the days when everyone watched the space race.

This is about this trip, not about long term plans.

Redoing what we did almost 60 years ago is not a mission.....this was supposed to have a point....but the Moon base idea looks less and less likely by the day.
Everything goes slowly when government is involved. This is the trip around the moon, the next one will be the landing on the moon, then ones after that will be the "make base" portion of things... It will take longer than you want, but saying there is no plan for it because they didn't do it now is just absurd, flies in the face of what we know about such things.
