Goldman Haters

I don't get why people are hating on Goldman Sachs. They gave back the money and the government got a 5% return in well under a year. They didn't even want the TARP money to begin with. TARP is quickly becoming the scarlet letter of the financial services industry.

I just think everyone hates banks and financial institutions in general now, because the perception is that they screwed america over with corruption and greed.

Its the same reason some of the famous bank robbers in the depression-era 30s were treated as folk heros. People in the depression were kind of stoked to see somebody fucking the banks over, after the banks fucked over america.

Sorry LadyT, that's just how it is!

It's the truth, not just a "perception".

Can you give me quotes and dates please? (FYI, I was referring to Bush's September state of the union)

you're kidding right....obama never said if his plan wasn't passed that we are going to be in a dire situation....you really want links....you really don't know he said anything like that....

you don't remember what he said to sell his plan? really

you're such a pathetic liar....i never said that stalker...sheesh, you follow me around the board like a love starved abused puppy

Still, it's not as creepy as what you do, which is to bring my name up in a wide variety of unrelated threads, where I haven't even posted.

Now THAT is creeped out...

ladyt,

here is just one example of obama fear mongering:

WASHINGTON - US President Barack Obama warned of an economic ‘catastrophe’ if lawmakers were unable to pass an unprecedented economic stimulus package and slammed Republicans for failing to recognise the outcome of the country’s general election last year.

‘A failure to act, and act now, will turn crisis into a catastrophe and guarantee a longer recession,’ Obama warned Wednesday at the White House.
