It does say something that in a world where Republicans don't stand for anything except worshipping a pathological liar, rapist, and felon that they're resisting him over this. I think it shows that a lot of people draw their "line" at child rape. It says something else that so many people can't even draw the line there.

I think it's a combination of factors. If the moron didn't launch into another trade war with the world and just let Biden's economy continue, everything would be much better now. trump's inflation came down steadily under Biden, and save for the corporations that continued to rape the consumer it should have improved even more.

The massive Nazi actions by trump's ICE, the horrible economy that trump caused, and now the Epstein files. Republicans just saw what happed on Election day, and they know that there is a massive storm on the horizon.

Remove trump's incompetence from the equation, and the economy is good. If the morons in Congress voted to continue ACA subsidies to go along with even more tax giveaways to the billionaires, the landscape is much different.

Instead, trump works tirelessly to be as cruel as he can to the commoners. Add that up, and Republicans can unite around the child rape issue.

Otherwise, if the nation is moving along without drama they simply dismiss the Epstein issue as a hoax.

That's a more cynical view than I shared, but it's well argued. Republicans still aren't blaming TACO for his demolition of the national economy. They are diverging from him in public comments, but it's mostly still finger pointing at Biden - who saved the economy from Trump and COVID - and Obama - who saved the economy from Baby Bush and an entire global collapse.

Turns out that some Americans do like to be healthy, but they can't afford health care. The ACA attempted to fix that, but Republicans don't want to pay for it because they don't believe in taxes - until they tariff the entire planet to death. Instead, they prefer to force women to complete accidental pregnancies, never help with the woman's prenatal care or overall health, and never give a shit about the child's health, education, wellbeing, or success for their entire actual life.

Only good, decent people care that ICE is breaking down doors, raiding homes and daycares, separating babies from their parents, and capturing legal citizens who have never committed a crime. There is not one single good, decent MAGAt on Earth, so I'm quite sure they don't care what he's doing in "blue" cities.

I'd like to believe that they actually oppose child rape, but you could be right that they're just sick of TACO and don't want to lose more political power like they did a couple weeks ago.
