America is growing increasingly diverse and more cosmopolitan, and the Republicans are on the wrong side of these trends.

The US Census Bureau estimates that the U.S. population will be 400 million by 2039. More than 22 million potential new voters will enter the electorate each year, many of them Latinos who have voted Democrat as a bloc in the past.

2/3 of the new Americans who join us by 2040 are projected to reside in just 20 "mega-politan" regions, where urban voters have traditionally favored the Democrats. President Obama won by double-digit margins in the nation’s top 50 metropolitan areas.

Today's Boomers are retiring in record numbers, and will die out at an increasingly rapid pace over the next decade. It's manifestly un-cool to be a Republican today and the GOP admits a paucity of youthful converts. Considering the X factor of an aging and nonrenewable GOP (the O stands for "old") base, and the Republicans may have seen their last victories when they stole the 2000 & 2004 elections.

you have forgotten an important demographic.....the vast majority of voters mature as the get older.....and mature voters tend to vote conservatively......

And if you keep telling your self that don't be surprised if the GOP dominates our government again. This is the third or fourth time in our nations history that the GOP has made the mistake of moving to far to the right and over reaching and paying a heavy price for that but pardon me for noticing, there's still quite a few of them around. Now when you consider the Democrats penchant for circular firing squads and self immolation it might be wise to be a little bit more humble.

When the democrats force gay marriage down their throats blacks and Latinos, both socially conservative, will leave the party in droves.

I wouldn't bet on that. Considering southern conservatives appalling record of racism it will take more than that to bridge that credibility gap.

perhaps, the baby boomers were rather socially progressive as are my wife and i even though we are retired

oat, dinks and some baby boomers are rather selfish

Or do you just not understand that I'm mocking you?

true....I did not understand it.....your post made you look more foolish than it did me.....

which item of my statement was it that you wanted documentation on.....that people mature or that mature people tend to be more conservative?......

Missing are the data for independents. They are getting fed up with Obama crisis, as all the polls show.

For the unitiated: The term GOP was created back when the Republican Party was still less than 30 years old (i.e. prior to the year 1884).

Pffffttt….Lefty partisan hackery.

Michael Steele’s RNC hip-hop program is going to pay dividends. Big time. Soon Rush Limbaugh and Glen Beck will be keeping it real in the black community as much as Kanye West and Snoop Dog.
