GOP doomed?

I understand that's what they teach in the liberal Democrat dominated public school system but ask yourself why your contention makes sense and perhaps a better explanation is that the losers of the Civil Rights battles have lied to you.

Despite the past, the GOP is perceived today as a racist party.

The fact is that an overwhelming majority of minority voters vote Democrat.

I expect that trand will only continue unabated after the historic victory of President Barack Obama.

(BS. If private insurers say that the marketplace provides the best quality health care, then why is it that the government, which they say can't run anything, suddenly is going to drive them out of business?

probably because the operating losses of their plan won't be underwritten by taxes as they will in the government plan......makes competition a bit iffey.......

He's not very good at that. My experience is that when challenged to do that he either changes the subjects or subjects you to some irrelevent circular argument or some empty rhetoric but he will usually run away from your question and not answer it.

lol.....I haven't gone any where, Mott the Hopeless......you were the one who ran away from the macro-evolution thread.....unless of course you've been spending this time trying to find evidence of causation......that could logically take quite a while....my guess, however, is that you just can't face up to getting pwned twice.....

blacks used to vote for republicans because they were the party of Lincoln and the democrats were the party of Jim Crow.

The roles have been reversed, and now the republicans are the party of Strom Thurmond and Trent Lott, and the democrats are the party of Barack Obama.

Blacks now vote for democrats in mind boggling overwhelming numbers.

The only explanation that racist republicans have for the incredible shift in black voting patterns is that blacks are stupid and shiftless and all on welfare and they vote for the democrats - even though democrats are supposedly so racist - so that they can get free stuff.

republicans don't understand how the mere voicing of that ridiculous and bigoted sentiment only serves to further alienate them from minority voters.

The insurance industry, abetted by Republicans, is waging all-out war against the idea of a public insurance alternative.

"Unfair competition," they cry.

But that doesn't square with the "GOP gospel" that competition is a hallmark of free-market economics.

Worse yet, it flies in the face of conservative mythology which holds that private enterprise is always more efficient than the bumbling private sector.

If so, what's private insurance got to fear from a little public competition?

Truth is, the private insurance industry has been a bust at controlling costs, which have risen at something like three times the inflation rate. Without competition from a public insurance option, chances of slowing the cost rise are dim.

Actually, the insurance companies are playing a classic double game. While pouring money into a campaign to stop a public option, they're pressing just as hard for an individual mandate that, without competition from a public option, would send millions more premium payers their way.

Straw man argument. When you rob Peter to pay Paul you can nearly always count on the support of Paul. It also keeps the majority of Pauls from obtaining their true potential, hence a near perfect scheme from the racist party: Democrats. *shrug*

Your racist characterization of Blacks as grasping welfare recipients who vote in self-interest is typical, although unsupported by facts.

Enjoy your 40 years in the wilderness.

tell me, DNC....what do you believe are the political positions taken by the Democrats that have most endeared them to minority groups.....what MAKES the Democrats the party of minorities.....

What boggles my mind is that the compassionless conservatives apparently presume that it's great to live in a country where children are forced to go without health insurance because they have parents who earn less than $250,000 a year.

The GOP seems committed to maintaining the status quo where the penalty for getting sick is that your children are made to suffer and you go bankrupt.

lol. You wish.

I would bet that nobody here makes that much and that nobody here is without health care.

This is what Republicans call "solutions".

All of you who have jobs that don't offer health insurance and can't afford the ridiculously expensive private health care plans that are available, well, you need to get a job that provides health insurance for your whole family, or don't have kids.

Oh, and while you're at it, you'd better be prepared to do whatever it takes to keep that job no matter what, especially if your kids get sick, because if you find yourself without health insurance for any reason it will be because it was your "choice".

If you don't have a job, it's your fault even though Bush and his Wall Street buddies crashed the economy after they looted the Treasury for 8 years.

This is what Republicans call "freedom."
