Goya Foods boycott takes off after its CEO praises Trump

They changed their name to just the pain Chicks
They'll always be the Dixie Chicks...Lady A will always be Lady Antebellum...you can tear down the statue, change the name or label or the mascot, etc...history doesn't change....

Pushing the incompetent and dangerous trump is not politically responsible. Trump is a portable bomb that should be defused in November.
Legal voting is fine. Boycotting a company that employs thousand of people of differing political views is just plain wrong

No one on the left can argue that. That is exactly what they say when they tear down statues and symbols.

Nordberg would not be yammering if his job was potentially on the line for strictly political purposes. Then again, as he is obviously on public assistance what does he care?

And like the Red Hen, this boycott will fail also. It will actually increase business for GOYA.

I will be boycotting Goya foods too!

Goya Foods CEO Won't Apologize for Praising Trump's Leadership in Face of Boycott Threats
Question? What leadership?

You missed the whole point of this discussion.....what is that thing you say so often? Whhooossshhh;)
How did I miss the point of the discussion? The discussion is boycotting businesses for political differences.

Compare the two situations for me, will you? Red Hen vs Goya.....
(Steph did let the hate consume her, didn't she? Now that is what we were discussing........)

You thought it was okay to boycott the Red Hen because of the way they treated Sarah Sanders Because they disagreed with her politics, now you claim it is wrong to boycott Goya. It’s just amusing to me how you change your tune.

We were discussing hate consuming people when you decided to drop in on the conversation we were having....
I thought you didn't buy Goya so you didn't care....Changing your tune now?

I was just about to start a thread on this.

This kind of boycott is stupid, and the worst kind. Same thing the right did to the Dixie Chicks.

Boycotts can have limited effectiveness to change a specific behavior - but we have to stop boycotting just because we disagree w/ someone politically. It's the marketplace of ideas - if you don't like someone's idea or opinion, counter it w/ a better one. Don't just try to shut them up.

It worked on the sob poppy johns pizza..........

They have shitty pizza anyway......

The hashtag #Goyaway was trending on social media Friday after Robert Unanue, CEO of Goya Foods, appeared in the White House Rose Garden Thursday afternoon and praised President Donald Trump.

Goya Foods is the largest, Hispanic-owned food company in the United States!

So lets try and put a lot of people out of work because the CEO likes Trump

GOYA will see a BOOM in sales after this...just like the hilarious Chick-Fil-A "boycott"....

I will be boycotting Goya foods too!

People like you will put other innocent Goya employees potential Democrat voters out of jobs. I hope they remember that in November.

I don’t buy Goya, never have, there are cheaper alternatives that are just as good.

I disagree, it is my prerogative to spend my money on products who support my principles. I try to buy American made when possible.

Yep....... I never even look @ them.. Many years ago I bought some in NYC because that is all they had in some stores..

No, you were discussing how hate consumes people who boycott Goya, so I asked if it was the same with the Red Hen. It’s alright, TOP, I don’t need you to confirm it, I know you’re a hypocrite.

Seriously...No one would stop buying something they've "always purchased" for any other reason...Hate for another human... pure and simple...it's taken control of quite a few here....it's pretty disturbing....

Well...you sound like a pretty disturbed individual, TOP...so that may have more to do with your upset than how I feel.

I do not hate anyone. In the HIGHLY unlikely situation of me coming into contact with Trump and him needing my help to survive some accident or such...I would aid him with as much effort as I would offer to you or one of my golf playing partners. I would struggle to aid him or anyone in that situation.

I understand. People on the right have trouble with a concept like that...so I forgive your ignorance.

In any case, I have bought my last Goya product.

Try not to let that bother you so much. Life is short.

;)
