Great Moments in Self-Defense

The macho posturing and gloating is disgusting.
I do however support deadly force when required for self defense.
However like the guy that killed the kid for walking on his yard. Well I do not lament that the shooter in that case killed himself.

I was disturbed and even a bit angry at the way that the above quoted story was written; it was sensationalized, read more like a script and didn't match at all the tone of the story that I read on CNN and MSNBC.

Here's a link to the local story that is more in line with what was published yesterday:

http://abclocal.go.com/wabc/story?section=news/local&id=6964798

The store owner said from the outset that he was saddened by what he had had to do to protect his people and himself. He thought immediately of the families of the individuals he had shot, and said that he'd have to live with his own actions for the rest of his life.

I learned when working in the prison system that I would, indeed, protect myself by whatever means necessary, should it ever come to that. Luckily I was able to defuse the couple of situations that came close.

These people that gloat and celebrate killing have either never killed another human or are somewhat insane.

I have killed. It is horrifying even in combat. there is no glory involved, just staying alive and keeping your buddies alive.
I surely hope I never have to kill again, but am certain I will if it is necessary, but only if necessary.
I do not even enjoy killiing animals that are causing problems.
Mosquitoes I DO enjoy killiling.

That is all I am saying on that.

He did what he had to do. These goons who wrote the article are disgracing him.

Of course, I don't believe he should be punished. That would be absurd. My responses on this thread were due to annoyance and disgust with comments of certain posters here, especially that ball of human sewage known as Webbway.

'I'D SHOOT AGAIN IF I HAD TO

By MATTHEW NESTEL, JAMIE SCHRAM and LUKAS I. ALPERT

August 15, 2009 --

"I'd do it again if I had to."

Those were the first defiant words out of no-nonsense businessman Charles Augusto Jr.'s mouth yesterday as he came back to work less than 24 hours after opening fire with his trusty shotgun on four robbers -- killing two of them.

The four men had picked the wrong shop -- and the wrong man -- to mess with. And they would have known it had they read the prophetic words from Dante's "Divine Comedy" written in marker above the door: "Abandon all hope all ye who enter here."

The thugs entered a world of hurt when they barged into Augusto's Harlem restaurant-supply shop, Kaplan Bros. Blue Flame Corp., Thursday afternoon, pulling out a 9mm pistol and pistol-whipping an employee as they demanded cash.

"I told them there wasn't any money. 'Take your gun, put it in your pocket, and go home.' They had a chance to leave," Augusto said.

But they didn't listen.

So Augusto, 72 -- known to most as "Gus" -- channeled his inner Dirty Harry and pulled out the Remington shotgun he had hidden under his desk for 20 years. He opened fire three times, peppering all four men with buckshot.

"I did what I had to do," he said. "It wasn't my choice; it was their choice."

The wounded men tried to run but didn't make it far.

The man armed with the pistol, 29-year-old James Morgan -- who had a long rap sheet with nine prior arrests -- took the first shot directly to his face and made it only as far as the shop door before crumpling dead to the ground.

A second man, Raylin Footman, 21 -- who had a prior arrest for robbery and a relative who was a cop -- made it across 125th Street before collapsing. He'd died by the time he was taken to a hospital.

The other two, Bernard Witherspoon and Shamel McCloud, both 21, were picked up by police nearby and taken to St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital. They are expected to survive. Both are to be arraigned today on robbery charges.

Sitting at his desk in the middle of his shop, marred by bloodstains and with bullet holes in the windows, Augusto said he felt bad about what happened.

"I had to shoot them. It was a tough thing to do," he said. "I have to live with that. I'm sad that there are mothers and fathers who lost sons."

But Augusto's beaten employee -- who would only give his name as J.B. -- had little sympathy.

"Shit went real bad for them, not for me," he said. "I'm breathing. They dead."

J.B. said his boss likes to do things "the old-fashioned way."

"Of course, he's going to keep open," he said.

Augusto and his employees tried to get back to business as usual yesterday, although it wasn't easy. When a woman came to place a candle outside the shop, J.B. angrily kicked it across the pavement.

"Who's this for?" he demanded of the startled woman. "For the guy who died? Fuck him!"

LOL

Don't fuck with old people. I like the employee who kicked that candle out into the street, enough with the sympathy for the crooks.

Now I wonder which side Sharpton is going to support??

You should be executed as well, disgusting subhuman.

FREEDOMMMMMMMMMMMM

Murder is murder.

Although President Obama accepts the rightwinger interpretation of the Second Amendment, I do not see any individual right to own or use a killing machine in the Constitution.

To kill is wrong, and all deaths are regrettable. Macho posturing and gloating over killing is wrong.

LOL

Murder is Murder. Does that include abortion or does that not count in a liberals mind?

LOL

I agreed to murder 5 million during war, they still have a long way to go. How many murders have you agreed to with abortion.

I haven't had an abortion, so none! I have four children, I did my part for life!

I don't support the death penalty and I don't counsel women to choose abortion, unless there has been a rape, or the child is extremely deformed, or it will risk the life of the mother and doctor, mother and husband have all been counseled on the issue. Neither of my daughters have had an abortion.

I wrote all of my Congress people and advocated birth control and counseling for young women and I asked them not to vote for the war! I voted against George Bush twice.

The issue of abortion has never come up for a vote if it does, I will vote my conscience. I do not condone abortion after eight weeks. i don't make personal choices for others, war is not personal, unfortunately. I would prefer it would be, one leader against one leader! Less blood, less loss!
What is one less leader...

5 million, you are a blood thirsty one!
