Local news is calling it a 100-year flood. While the Texas weather folks are saying they have enough staff they're also saying it's not 24/7 nor do they have a fully staffed admin.
The admin problem came up with the Air Traffic Controllers too; lots of worker bees, but not much admin support. That means less management, schedulers, disbursing people and others to rectify employee issues.

If you remember the specific fire department, you can send a thank you note there. They'd know who was on duty and who was notifying campers at the time. Include date, time and location.
