It depends whether he died within 28 days here. A safer system is to compare the current figures with the equivalent time last year. The lurgy is very dicey for older people, that we do know. What it does to younger people over time remains to be revealed. Fortunately over here we have the NHS. My great-grandfather was a Liberal, so I believe: since then we've tended to understand capitalism better in this Valley. We never had any conservatives that I know of.

Thatcher was a conservative and did more for the UK than all the liberals in your history. My point here is that unless we somehow can remove those that would have died of something else, we will never have an accurate covid death count. Said another way, there is no way to every know exactly how many people covid alone killed.

What we do know is that here in the USA we have a 99.7% covid survival rate.
