Halliburton to Move Headquarters to Middle East Hub of Dubai

It is no suprise to me.
But why should the US govt support them with contracts and not spend our tax dollars on domestic companies that would boost our economy and jobs ?

There's no reason they have to move their entire headqaurters to dubai. It doesn't pass the laugh test. They could just as easily open an business affiliate there. That's what Exxon, Chevron, and BP do.

I think that halliburton wants to do business with Iran. There's a lot of money to be made in Iran, but there are a lot of trade sanctions and laws in the U.S. that prohibits certain kinds of business transactions with iran.

Moving corporate HQ to Dubai probabaly allows them to skirt US law, vis a vis iran. And there is a TON of money to be made in iran: pipelines, fied development, etc.

You are probbly onto the real reason Cypress. That and avoidance of US taxes, on income derived fro US tax dollars....

cypress you should read more.
they are staying a us corporation incorporated out of Deleware.
Just moving the executive office to where the customers are.
70% of thier oil services revenue comes form the middle east.

Yep moving the executive office, It would be kinda hard for Iranian customers to come into their Delaware office and do business now wouldn't it ;)

wow jumping in with the idiot turbo-libs on the halli bashing.
Bet you haven't read more than two pages on the issue.
Kentucky's finest

Not much business for them here, no oil drill allowed in many years. No new refineries nothing. They don't drill for oil they supply services to the oil company.

And FYI they are spinning off KBR, the company that supplies military services. It was a money losing company.
