In 2016, whites accounted for 77.7 percent of all U.S. deaths, but just 53.1 percent of births.

Demographers use the birth-to-death ratio (BDR) to track the changing relationship between fertility and mortality in a population. For whites, the BDR fell from 1.21 in 2000 to just 0.98 in 2016 (Figure 2). Thus, the number of white births for each white death declined from 1.21 in 2000 to less than 1 in 2016. In contrast, even with recent fertility declines associated with the Great Recession there were 4.9 Latino birth for every Latino death, 3.9 Asian births for every Asian death and 1.7 African American birth for every African American death. This combination of high ratios of births to deaths for the minority population and fewer births than deaths among whites accelerated the diversity of the U.S. population.

And then the Baby boom began. :)

Today we celebrate the first Europeans who immigrated to North America, without any documents, took land and what they could. Murdered the Americans and took the land.

Let’s give thanks for them!
Since most of N. America was unoccupied land when the first Europeans arrived, your statement is utter bullshit. As for "murdered the Americans," that was mutual, not one-sided, and many of the wars started between Native Americans and Europeans were started by Native Americans.

You don’t think Europeans made war against each other for hundreds and hundreds of years fighting over land and resources?
No different than Native Americans did between various tribes, and then between themselves and the Europeans. In fact, often various tribes sided with different European sides in a war that was going on.

Plymouth was occupied.

Most of the Americas was occupied.

Murder is murder.

Poor Brad.

If he isn't intelligent enough to have learned that the occupiers of the lands that Europeans encountered were themselves conquerors who had little if any concept of today's "property rights" and no known immigration laws, that explains this thread.

Perhaps the fact that he's trolling on JPP today could be understandable if the rumors I heard a while ago are true.

Word was that Brad was caught screwing his Hispanic housekeeper and lost everything in the ensuing family law litigation.

I'll be off now, since I still have family willing to be with me on a national holiday.

All three are as bullshit as your version of history. Plymouth was founded on an abandoned by the Patuxet tribe. The sole survivor of the village later met with the Europeans, along with several other native representatives, and had no problem with their occupation of the site. In fact, several of the early natives that met with the Europeans spoke English leaned from other colonies, and at least one had travelled to Europe.

I didn’t say they had a problem with the English being there, I simply said the area was occupied.

The question is: How does that make America a better place and a better nation?
