We were down in Pattaya on Jomtien Beach till yesterday. All of that stuff could be a million miles away for all you would know. You very rarely see Americans in Thailand, and it is always a pleasure when you do. I met a guy a couple of weeks ago in the Exploding Chicken and he was such a nice guy. He is representing a healthcare company trying to sell services in Myanmar.
He spoke fluent Thai and was learning Burmese.
Arseholes like Nostradumbarse have clearly never been anywhere, he is so bloody ignorant about the world.

How do you know that? It's pretty damn big in Mexico, Brazil, the Phillippines and Germany as well. The San Fernando valley is also home to huge chunk of the internet porn industry. Thailand is modernising very fast, I just couldn't believe how quickly 4G has been rolled out here, it is literally everywhere now. The Chinese and Japanese will be building high speed railways here soon. The eventual plan is for railways to run from China to Singapore via Laos, Vietnam and Thailand.

You're confusing sex tourism or sex trafficking with sex industry. Prostitution, strip clubs, massage parlors, pornography, etc, amount to a multibillion dollar industry in the US that dwarfs the sex tourism trade in Thailand.
