Has the Dam broken?

I swear I did not read this before I posted this thread, but a tiny bit of looking found this opinion piece. A very intelligent man, came to the same idea as I did…

Dude, Robert Reich? Come on man. You've got to put a little more effort into than that. Should I grab a Steven Bannon piece on why America is turning against Democrats?

Touché, but I was impressed that we both had very similar thoughts. Bannon is a very acute political observer and while I find him a despicable person, he had gone a long way reading the political room.

He was talking about it for days…
Did he? I heard he agreed with the from the network to give Jimmy a time out...most sane people were on board with that...mostly because while he was gone the world somehow found a way to exist without him...and actually to be a better place...;)

Being on the political right in the Bay, it’s almost impossible to stay in an echo chamber. I’ve found and read real liberals who are anti-Trump but also willing to talk about the problems in their own party, and why just being anti-Trump isn’t enough.

This board isn't moving any needles in the real world but the mentality is the same. You guys all bond together being anti-Trump but it's like an unwritten code, 'we shall not speak about our own party'. Power will ebb and flow between both parties in this country, no one will dominate for long, but you guys choose to absolutely ignore your own issues which only benefits Republicans.

After years of sycophancy, groveling, and eating crow, at least three Republican senators have publicly stood up to the TACO in Chief!

We had an unprecedented three Republican senators come out against the way Trump threatened Jimmy Kimmel. Not just any Republican senators, but Ted Cruz and Rand Paul were two of them. This has never happened before. Ted Cruz has been kissing Trump‘s ass ever since he got trounced in the Republican primary almost 11 years ago. I have never seen him take Trump on directly, and the very interesting thing was Trump did not punch back.

The American people seem to have supported Disney and ABC when they finally stood up to Trump on the Jimmy Kimmel issue. Trump has shown weakness in this event. Other smaller things like the clear, sabotage the experience at the UN, and his ineptness to do anything about it might be signaling a turn.

I’ve seen over and over again when presidents finally reach the point where their own side is willing to criticize them, they are significantly rained done. I don’t believe it’s a coincidence that this is happening at the beginning of the start of a congressional election year. In a few short months, the focus will be off Trump and onto the nationwide campaign. No matter who wins the house and Senate next year, the end of that race will mark the start of the 2028 presidential primary elections.

Once a few Republicans declare, the emperor has no clothes, I think the dam will have burst. There comes a point where Trump’s power to Lord over congressional Republicans will weaken to a teeny trickle. When that happens, the resentment and anger that they have had to swallow over his treatment of them will come out with a roar.
nobody threatened Jimmy Kimmel.

the network is embarrassed at his hatred, stupidity and lies.

I wasn’t trying to give Bannon credit. I only picked him because he’s so partisan and pro-Trump. That doesn’t mean he can’t sometimes be a sharp observer of what Democrats are doing I suppose.

He was pissed, he said they told him Kimmel had been fired.

I understand, I am not Pro Democrat, both parties do equal damage to the Constitution and Nation. I am liberal, but not a true believer in the Democrats. Trump is really I likely would have voted for Nikki Haley had she won the republican nomination.

Now Trump is not even trying to hide that he is going after Comey on a personal vendetta. I’m not sure that’s going to go over very well with the Republican Senate.

Trump has lowered himself from President of the United States to guy who is truly triggered and overly angry about a comedian television host with poor ratings.
Poor ratings? He has been on for 23 years. That is not failure. He has also hosted many other shows. He has had a huge career.

I'd say more disappointed understandably so... So who are you boycotting to show your support for Jimmy?
He went on a rant about how what Kimmel did was not legal.

He was roundly ignored. Kimmel is big enough for the POTUS to attack him several times. Trump was ready to violate the First Amendment to try to get him to stop telling jokes about him.

It's all just another Epstein files distraction.
