I have found the argument against the electoral college as a sign of one not ever having a civics or history class. NOt having an understanding of what the executive branch does or the purpose of the federal government.
How can you win something that doesn't play a role in the process?
The losing team in a football game might have more total yards of offense, more sacks on defense, more first down, more interceptions, etc. Unless they have the highest score, those stats mean nothing.
Continuing to bring up something that doesn't play a role in the process proves you don't understand the system nor know why it was put in place over 200 years ago.
I'm not really either for or against, though I always though the electoral was a little weird. It started as a concession to get the slave states on board w/ revolution...the reasoning wasn't some sound sort of effort for "fairness" to places that didn't even really exist yet.
I think it has to look strange to the world that someone can get 3 million more votes & lose.
How do I not understand the system? I have never said that the electoral doesn't decide the winner.
But, Hillary did win the popular by 3 million + votes.
When are you going to actually provide something you say you have instead of only saying you have them?
and the republicann party jhas cheated voters out of their rights for decades.
Its part of the reason the people of color in this country hate the republican party
see you are pretending I have not posted them right here.
Im going to go feed the dogs and then I will supply more and more ,and more
will you ignore them too?
Because you keep bringing up something that is irrelevant. If you understood how it worked and why it was put in place, you wouldn't keep mentioning something that has no bearing on the end result.
People talk about margins of victory all of the time - whether they're pluralities or majorities, how they affect a mandate. Are you relatively new to politics and political analysis?
And you can bet the house that Trump would have a record # of tweets on it if it was a reverse situation, and you'd be right in line behind him.
But, it's also just fun to bring up: Hillary won the popular by 3 million+ votes. 2%. That's pretty significant.
