Have you ever noticed...

Socialism does not exist like capitalism doesn't either. They are theories. The Scandinavian countries have varying degrees of socialism and are doing quite well., They are not scaling any Trumpian walls and are blocking most Americans from moving there,

Two reasons why they are doing OK.
1. The US foots most of the bill for their security.
2. They are almost uniformly white and Christian.

Hello Grugore,

Definition of socialism. 1 : any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods.

How does this, in any way, describe America?

If it doesn't describe America then what's the problem?

But I think it kind of does describe America. And I still don't see a problem with that. Actually, I think this should be expanded to achieve the proper balance of capitalism and socialism.

I am a strong proponent of using government for needs, and a well regulated capitalist market for wants. Government should own and run health care, but at least there should be a Single Payer insurance system at the very least. Medicare-For-All is a good place to begin.

The only product I can think of that I would like to government to own production of might be prescription drugs, because that is not a true capitalist market, and the prices have become unworkably high. Those people are getting filthy rich as others die for inability to buy drugs. Seniors choosing between medicine and heat is a failure of our system.

I do favor collective ownership of corporations, but then, we sort of have that already with publicly owned corporations.

I am in favor of worker cooperatives, where the workers own the company they work for, and make the decisions affecting their lives. But those companies should compete in the open market for share, as they do already.

...that you have never seen anyone fleeing capitalism for a better life in a socialist country?
Not once. Never.
Think about that. Take all the time you want.

Madonna and Gwenneth Paltrow both fled to England where they adopted the most contrived accents possible.

Correct. But I bet this thread really had legs on some mindlessly conservative fourm.

The point is, that you never see significant attempts of migration from a capitalist nation to a socialist one. Yet there is a huge demand for migration to the US.

Again, you show your ignorance.

Socialist countries have very strict immigration laws,
PARTICULARLY where unwelcome Americans are involved.

They're obviously not going to let you share in their civilized social systems
when you haven't paid into them with your taxes.

If they did, there would be more Americans than Swedes in Sweden.
