I don't understand this whole thing obviously, but the first thing I don't understand is - who gives a flying fuck if someone is texing at the movie theater???? Talking on the phone yes. Their phone is ringing? Yes. I see people texting all the time at movies, and this happened during the damned previews! I think most people are still texting during previews, or making out. I mean, no one is actually watching them are they?

I'm just amazed that anyone would even care enough about someone texting to even say something about it, no less murder them for it.

Agreed... don't see the what caused the outrage. If the messages were pinging as they came in and were repetitive... then MAYBE he could justify a bit of it, but not during previews.

The younger guy seems like a douche as well, but in no way did his actions warrant getting killed.

Where did you see that he was throwing popcorn??? It didn't describe the altercation other than to say it went from verbal to physical. Unless I missed something.

In the news report I read he threw popcorn in the face of the retired police officer and that's when he drew his gun from his pocket and shot him, according to witnesses at the scene.

Guy sitting behind us and two seats down had a gun right on his hip and he wasn't hiding it.
