As I said I would love it if each state got back ONLY what they pay into the Federal government and had to pay for what their state gov. spends .Red states would have to raise their taxes a LOT or really cut the programs they give the people of their state.
I am sure NY would love to have that 19 or more Billion dollars to work with.

FEMA comes in and organizes the locals and the National Guard to get things done. FEMA is very good at giving locals a quick minimal training.

If you remove FEMA from the mix, you end up with locals just wondering around. There is a reason that does not work.

Maybe MAGATs and other selfish types would think differently if they understood that when their home/business is wiped out by a flood, a wildfire, a tornado, a hurricane, an earthquake that the help and the money to pay for it comes from not "the government," but from all of us, their fellow Americans. It is just far more efficient to let a central entity distribute what is needed than it is for us to individually donate to the Red Cross or a local church group. Donations are good, of course, but can in no way make up for the combined power of Americans' taxes.

People of NY are NOT being neglected , but they could have a very large tax cut IF they got back ALL the money they pay into the Fed, that is now going to fund RED states, it is about time red states start paying their own way.
9 Billion PLUS would go a long way.

We can righteously blame the media for some of this attitude. I noticed after the devastating floods in the SE last year that they sought out disgruntled ppl for interviews. I didn't see any coverage of citizens praising the help that they got. That gave the #ChaosKing an excuse to bash and then cut FEMA to the bone.

She also wishes to deflect from the fact that her beloved Gropingfuehrer fucked up FEMA, which will affect Americans directly in bad ways. She lives at the edge of tornado alley. Wouldn't it be a shame if her hovel was wiped out by a twister and she had to go live in a church basement for months because FEMA wasn't able to help?
