"Hear me clearly," "America is not a racist country."- Tim Scott

maybe I assumed he hated flag burners????

"I find it hilarious watching you idiot libs go on and on and on about your hatred for the confederate flag as the symbol of treason and traitors while at the same time sit around and praise all the morons out there burning US flags."

Like 'Israel', South Africa under the Boers and Hitler's Germany, eh!

Yeah, no.
Fun fact: Russia, not the US accepted all the South African fleeing Boers.

Now Africa will starve, and I will advocate against sending them ary a damn thing.

They wanted the whites gone, they better feed themselves or starve, I do not care.
No pity for Africans that ran off their farmers because they were white.

Meanwhile, Russia got pro farmers.

well, geeko has always been an un-american fuckstick, so it was the logical choice to assume he supported flag burning

Ah okay.

I like Confederate flags due to their aesthetics. I don't like history on slavery though.

Whether or not those flags are racist depend on the owners' intent.

FROM A WORLD WHERE FACTS DON’T MATTER — WHICH IS EXACTLY WHERE REPUBLICANS LIVE. UNFORTUNATELY, THAT INCLUDES YOU.
iv'ee been around the block more then once.
Iv'e told the story of how my black neighbor back when I was a kid "enlightened me" that he wanted the same thing for his family when he moved into the house next door - as the white couple with kids did that moved out.
It stayed with me. It taught me all people are the same. Skin color is meaningless.

Now the Progs want to overturn that, and the teachings of Dr King that skin color doesn't matter
King:
I look to a day when people will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character ...
it's loathsome that Progs/Dems/Whatever the fuck now say white people are privleged or the black man
can't succeed because of "systemic racism" or whatever garbage you Dems are lying about for political gain.

it's simply not true. we are a colorblind society. we have a rainbow of success stories,
an a thriving black middle class outside the ghetto, or large swatches of Dem cities.

This 1619 Project mentality, this lie we are a racist society- unable to shake off the original sin of racism
is destroying our E Pluribus Unum, and our common heritage.
And it's hurting young blacks expectations for themselves

The CRA ended systemic racism. period. it does not exist anymore.
When we find isolated instances of racism, we root them out, we prosecute and we do not accept it as a social norm.

Lying and calling the USA a failed racist construct imparts a sense of victimization to young blacks.
You ( not you personally) are creating the notion they cannot succeed, or any failures are because they are victims.

It's the "soft prejudice of diminished expectations" I find most vile

‘Residual’ systemic racism lol.

Was that a subtle move of the goalposts?

I think he means that there have been a systematic racism since the founding of the USA. Since the CRA and the 60s, while racism in general might have been reduced, there's still "residual racism".

If there is no systematic racism in America, then why are some people saying that the Democratic party is pushing systematic racism?

Scott clearly sees personal profit in speaking righty positives. Tokens do get special protections. Systemic racism is inequality in institutions and systems of power. Examples are employment, government agencies, and social services. It takes the form of unfair policies, practices, and discrimination. It results in discriminatory treatment, unequal opportunities, and poorer outcomes.
We have it bigly. Schools and police treatment are some of the most obvious. Getting followed around at stores is a more subtle example. it exists in all minorities' lives.

So once again a white man is telling a black person he is only allowed to have one experience in this country and think and speak one way. Having nuanced or even contrarian views is not allowed. Your attitude towards Scott, and others like him, is 'learn to stay in your lane black man'.

How does Sen. Tim Scott think he is going to work on police reform if he and his Republican Party do not believe there is systemic racism in America?

In his response to President Joe Biden’s joint address to Congress, Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina said the most outrageous thing a Black man could possibly utter in 2021. He said that America is not a racist country.

This begs the question, exactly how does Tim Scott think he is going to work on police reform if he and his Republican Party do not believe there is systemic racism in America? You already know the answer, fam.

Listening to Scott’s speech, one was reminded that he is speaking not to Black people, but to white Republicans who believe Blue Lives Matter and police should be able to brutalize, even kill Black bodies with impunity, and that his whole purpose as a Black Republican is to serve as a Trojan Horse for the GOP, a Negro Whisperer for white supremacists.

As is typical, the lone Black Republican senator presented his bootstrap narrative about how he made it out of poverty through prayer and “with a string of opportunities that are only possible here in America.”

As a fully-grown Black man living in America, Scott knows he has experienced racism — because he said as much. “Nowhere do we need common ground, more desperately been in our discussions of race. I have experienced the pain of discrimination. I know what it feels like to be pulled over for no reason, to be followed around the store while I’m shopping,” Scott said.

A very interesting perspective.
