"Hear me clearly," "America is not a racist country."- Tim Scott

This is why I am on the right and support the GOP.

On a fundamental level Democrats and the left believe that the US is a fundamental evil and bad for the world. Any problem other countries have can be traced back to it.

On a fundamental level Republicans and the right believe that the US is a force for good on the world stage and the prosperity others enjoy is because of it.
LOL, funny, I don’t think like you perceive at all.

Eh, at a certain level I think there is truth to what he's saying.

If you look at the left, you have the 1619 Project and at its core it says America is a fundamentally racist and flawed country. Not a great country with faults, rather a fundamentally flawed country. And just look at the uproar over Tim Scott's comment about America not being fundamentally racist. And we have heard often from this crowd that American's are Colonializers and have oppressed people (largely P.O.C.) all over the globe. Our biggest ally in the Middle East is the terrorist country of Israel etc.

And with the G.O.P. I think back to Reagan and his vision of America and being a force for good in the world. It's a very different vision than the one above.

There is always nuance. And the statements are more ones of generalization. But to me, definite elements of truth in them.

It's an either-or fallacy. As you have stated, there's always nuance.

I meant what I said, perhaps I should have said most blacks! I am a white, conservative, heterosexual christian, who loves my country, and understands it's history, who is more marginalized than I am?

Everyone. You are a member of the insiders club with all the benefits that it incurs. You have no idea what others live like if you make a foolish claim like that.

It's an either-or fallacy. As you have stated, there's always nuance.

It actually is either or. You either think America is a fundamental good or America is a fundamental evil. Theres such a thing as a guiding philosophy about how one views the world.

The left will always say a certain thing in the world is americas fault even if it is only tangentally related to it.

The right will always say that no matter how bad the US gets in certain issues the world is still fundamentally lucky to have it as overlord.

Yes America is a fundamental good or America is a fundamental evil. AND a mixture of both.

The either-or fallacy is stating that Democrats think that America is fundamentally evil and Republicans think that America is fundamentally good with no other choice or options at all.

You'd be kicked out of a debate team quicker than you can say the word "fallacy".

That is the beauty of this country. Anyone can do as well or better than the next person. Millions upon millions from every walk of life do it every day. Not folks like you though. Just sit there demanding more of a handout and blaming everyone for your lack of intellect or desire to improve yourself. Pipe down asshole. The entire country knows who the freeloader are.

Evolving has different meanings in different context, you likely know that if you are intelligent enough to breath.

Lol, you disprove yourself. All these scribbles have no meaning at all. Youre using it rhetorically and just think you're portraying any meaning. I got you dead to rights particularly on my final condemnation.

Youre literally trying to use evolve in complete opposition to its use in it's original context to mean something? No you are not. Youre just puking influential spew to people who wouldnt know better. Why dont you go practice saying systemic or something.

Omf i hate these catholic slime bags. So insubstantial, so wormy.

PItiful little person, try to make something of yourself.

Hear me clearly," he said. "America is not a racist country."

Scott used the GOP rebuttal to continue a theme he started earlier in the week about how there is unity in the country's diversity, claiming that Republicans have supported policies that have reformed the criminal justice system and opened the economy to all Americans regardless of race.

"Just before COVID, we had the most inclusive economy in my lifetime," he said.
"The lowest unemployment rate ever recorded for African-Americans, Hispanics and Asians, and a 70 year low nearly for women. Wages were growing faster for the bottom 25% than the top 25%. That happened because Republicans focused on expanding opportunity for all Americans."

Republicans controlled Washington in May 2018 when the African American unemployment rate dipped to 5.9%, for instance.

Tell it!!!

It sounds like its a generalization because it is. Im not talking about any particular instance. IMO everyone has a pair of glasses which they see the world by. Im describing the fundamental difference between the glasses worn by the Democrats and Republicans.

If you show a Democrat a country that has prospered because of US investment they will say "But the US is still exploiting that country"
If you show a Republican a country that has suffered due to US leadership they will say "They are still better off under us than elsewhere"

I actually think the blacks being brought here from Africa is a great example

One side says but the Americans made them suffer
The other says that they are better off here than in native Africa no matter the circumstance.

One sees the US as a fundamental good with flaws
One sees the US as a fundamental evil which occasionaly does good things (but not enough to overcome the evil)

Still an either-or fallacy.

You probably were conditioned to hate Democrats. I've known Republican families who would ostracize any of their relatives who dared to vote for a Democrat.
