Heartbreaking photograph shows an elderly man eating alone at a restaurant on Valenti

Kind of a beautiful story, actually. Sure, it has sadness, but I love that he does that, and even buys the extra glass of wine. That's love, and really says a lot about their relationship that he keeps her memory alive like that and honors what they had.

Humans aren't allowed to be sad, I guess. There must be something wrong, it seems. Why else would someone post about this? Oh, it could be that they find delight in the misery of others. Haha! check out the lonely dude all alone and stuff!

The older I get, the more I realize how little I have in common with the rest of you people

Show me the posts where I scream racial insults at people like CFM does.

Racist insults that YOU HAVE NEVER CALLED HIM OUT ON - btw.

Hypocrite.
I have called him out several times but you're always asleep at the wheel. When you ever called out Desh for being both foul-mouthed and a loony?

Question for all you supposed "compassionate conservatives"...

How do you morons know that picture is even real?

How do you know it wasn't posed for just to accompany a human interest article the editor ordered to fill up some space?

Aren't you fucks the ones who are always harping about how the media can't be trusted and calling everything you don't like "FAKE NEWS"?

Now, when it's convenient PR, you're all sappy and sympathetic to your fellow man?

Give.

Me.

A.

Fucking.

Break.
She's on Facebook...you can ask her if it's fake if you like...I chose just to thank her for sharing that lovely and very touching story...and then shared it again...

Truth is if you live long enough, you outlive your spouse and sometimes your children. Your friends die off and move away. Some are unable to get around. Being alone sometimes, is part of life.

Jesus Harold Christ, is this the cesspool I've waded into? Just a simple thread about a guy missing his wife has to turn into a flamewar? What the fuck is wrong with you people?

You an I have been at it all morning, but this statement cuts through all the bullshit and says it all. I couldn't agree with you more.

A small suggestion for those who have found Desh's and Nomad's behavior to totally beneath the pale; may I suggest that everyone just ignore their future comments and that we continue forward in this thread, exhibiting the fact that even though we don't all agree politically, we can unite in expressing our compassion for this man and his departed wife.

does that mean we have to lose all compassion for people that live longer than their family members?

Can't figure out if watching this group of perennially obnoxious, vile, right-wing hate-mongers suddenly trying to pass themselves off as warm, kind, caring and gentle human beings is more amusing than it is nauseating or more nauseating than it is amusing.

I will say one thing for you knuckle-draggers though.

You put on a cute little act.

No doubt about that.
