Exactly! We're not talking about banning MAGA symbols throughout the country. We're talking about a school banning them. If it was the former, I would see this as a violation of freedom of expression. But in a school, I'm for it.

Totally agree. Let them wear their MAGA hats, deplorable t-shirts and crotchless 'pussy grabber' panties. It will just help the decent kids know who to avoid. And even better security guards will know which kids are likely to bring in drugs, booze , child porn and guns.
Just look for the MAGA hat, ask them to open their school bag and voila - not only will you prevent a mass shooting, but you might have enough evidence to jail them for a very long time.

It doesn't matter if she had an intention to trigger somebody, it is still protected free speech (outside of school). If a person is triggered by something it is their responsibility to control their actions. Just keep our mouth shut and let everybody freely express their political views without fear of being attacked. It is not our responsibility to shame or correct somebody because we disagree with them. It only creates a more intolerant uncivil society none of us want to live in.

Why should Democrats take advice from Conservatives who couldn't even control Trump and the right-wing bigots in their own party?
In our school district, kids aren't supposed to wear hats at all in the school buildings. It's listed in one of the sections of the dress code. They also have to be careful about what they have on their shirts. They can and will be sent home to change, or have to wear something over it.
Freedom of speech is not freedom from consequences.
You want to limit others' freedom of speech to accommodate bad faith speech.
That's why you suck.

The problem is you pussies that want consequences for people speaking is based on you not liking what they say.
That is different. It is content neutral. This is directly about specific speech. It won't pass any first Amendment case,given modern law.
If it's anything like the school district where I live, enforcement if often based on things unrelated to the action itself.
In the content neutral situations, it's based on what it is not what it says. That's objective. When the rules use terms like "offensive", that's dependent upon someone whining and those in authority agreeing. That's subjective.
