Hillary's slide in the polls continues

Hillary is barely above the margin of error in one RCP poll and below it in the other. And CNN[!] has Trump with a two point lead.

And it's after Labor Day. Even three weeks ago I wouldn't have been brash enough to call this.

My guess is the polls are reflecting Trump's Mexico visit and his black outreach. A note about the latter: it's not just about appealing to blacks. It's also about countering the incessant 'Trump is a racist' meme. My guess is it's working with some undecideds. Both were brash [and risky] moves by Trump.

Like I said in my last poll post---Hillary needs to DO something besides spend money on TV ads and give kinda-sorta press conferences on her new plane.

Because she's being out-politiced by a non-politician.

I said long ago that she won't get the black vote like The Obama did. Black women are not impressed at all about her White Privilege, and the fact that she'd be an unknown if she had done what most of them would have and tossed out Bill at his first transgression. I also think that they are especially turned off by Hillary's attacks on Bill's long string of mistresses. Regards to black men, I think that they'd support a brash billionaire with a hot wife than an haggard old biatch that disdains the public and shits her panties.

No one will get the black vote like Obama did. That's off the table.

Trump needs some combination of actual black votes coupled with a miserable black turnout for Hillary, which essentially takes away a significant element of the 2008-2012 democrat coalition.

Exactly. I think he'll get a significant portion, because he's confronted the 'Rats policies that have hurt blacks, and asked blacks 'What have they really done for you?. Many others will simply stay home.

It's a great ploy by Trump---and it's something a establishment republican would never do.

I don't know what you mean by significant portion. It's hard to break into 'generational' voting. The same thing has gone on in WV where people have voted democrat for generations---because their parents did lol.

Trump can make some headway into the black vote but I don't see a huge bloc of blacks going for Trump. But, he can certainly lay the groundwork for future republicans.

His best hope is to dampen the turnout for Hillary.

By significant I mean at least as high as W Bush got, maybe 15% or so.
I don't think that you can compare the black demographic with WV, since the Democrats have done so well destroying the black family, so "generational voting" really can't be much of a factor.

It is tightening, but I find it funny when you consider the margin of error in polls where HRC is ahead, but don't in polls where Trump is ahead.

I am very glad he is fighting for the Black vote, it will force the Democrats to be true to the fight for equality. I really don't think Trump himself is a racist, I think he is appealing to them intentionally and saying things that are racist to get their support.

Huh? Has Trump ever been ahead by 3?

He was a long time ago, but I never said anything about him being ahead by three. In polls where HRC is "within the margin of error" you point that out, but in the one where Trump is ahead but "within the margin of error" you fail to mention it.

You guys are funny, hey Trump might pull it off.

In some ways I hope he does, but until then it is fun to see you fuel your hopes with every little trump bounce.

Hillary won't generate enthusiasm. But minorities will probably turn out in record #'s anyway.

Margin of error is margin of error lol.

Have you started any threads headed with 'Trump takes lead!' yet?

Your bias is showing!

Hey its okay, plenty of people allow their hopes to change reality in their mind.

I've gotta say, Trump's standing in the polls does shock me.

I watched that 2-hour special on him on CNN last night. He's really a full-blown nutter. Textbook narcissist & lives in a near-constant state of delusion. Serial exaggerator & liar, and as insecure as a human can be. And he's not a very good businessman, either - just a good con artist, more than anything.

And man, I keep saying it, but this is someone who absolutely does not care about the little guy. He has put so many small companies & contractors out of business; it's pretty disgusting if you look into the history.

I get that Hillary is a weak candidate. But Trump is truly dangerous.
