President Trump read most of his July 4 speech from a prepared text. Here is a memorable bit:
"Our Army manned the air, it rammed the ramparts, it took over the airports, it did everything it had to do, and at Fort McHenry, under the rocket’s red glare it had nothing but victory. And when dawn came, their star-spangled banner waved defiant."
There was no air war or airports in the 18th century, Mr President. That's fake news. Also the siege of Fort McHenry was in the War of 1812 - the one where the British burned the White House.
Watch out, Mr President, the redcoats are coming for you! And ffs get a new speechwriter.
