History according to Trump

Trump is known for being able to talk for an hour and say nothing, but this time he said a mouthful.

Either Washington's army "manned the air" and "took over the airports" as Trump said, or they didn't. Which was it?

My theory is that they used stealth aircraft, which Trump has previously told us are invisible. That's why nobody saw them.

my theory is you should talk about this till the election, it will win you votes......

Best sing-songy speech ever!

You would not say that if a Dem said something that stupid. On the big stage, one that he orchestrated, he blew something simple. Of course, he might not know better. He does not pay much attention to things that don't make money for him. Well, that and grabbing pussy.

I wouldn’t pretend a July 4th parade was going to be like Tiananmen square then resort to word-policing to disguise my fevered view of reality once proven wrong.

Trump and you will both say many more dumb things before the election. This is fundamental crap. A short speech on American history and they fucked it up. Was it daffy's fault? Was it written like that? Who knows, but it reeked of incompetence and a lack of knowledge like everything Trump touches. Trump is not bright at all, but you hope somebody of the staff can get a simple little thing like this right. They can't. Maybe Ivanka wrote it.

You have to admit, though, the BEST sing-songy rendition of a TelePrompTer speech ever!

Trump blames 'airports' gaffe on teleprompter

US President Donald Trump has blamed a teleprompter going "kaput" for a glaring anachronism in his Independence Day speech.

He told crowds on 4 July the Continental Army "took over the airports" during the American Revolutionary War in the 1770s.

Observers quickly pointed out there was no air travel in 18th Century America.

Outside the White House on Friday, Mr Trump said: "I guess the rain knocked out the teleprompter. I knew the speech very well so I was able to do it without a teleprompter but the teleprompter did go out and it was actually hard to look at anyway because there was rain all over it ..."

Er, I see.

Er, I see.

LOL! I thought only Obama used teleprompters because he was too stupid to give a speech w/o help. At least, that's what we all heard for eight years plus.

President Trump read most of his July 4 speech from a prepared text. Here is a memorable bit:

"Our Army manned the air, it rammed the ramparts, it took over the airports, it did everything it had to do, and at Fort McHenry, under the rocket’s red glare it had nothing but victory. And when dawn came, their star-spangled banner waved defiant."

Was this gibberish just Trumpf winging it, or did some speech writer actually get paid money to write this? That is a career-ender if a professional wrote it.
