Holocaust denial poll results

Is anyone really surprised by this? There are a lot of reasons a ridiculous accusation would draw equally ridiculous push back.

The Nazi death camps were clinically engineered and operated for one purpose: industrial scale mass murder of Europe's Jews. That kind of industrial scale mass murder is unprecedented in human history.

That's incorrect. The Nazi program was to dispose of ALL unwanted minorities, NOT just Jews. This deeply ingrained misinformation should be addressed.
The Nazis murdered up to 14 million people from other , non-Jewish, minority groups. That was The Holocaust. It was NOT a solely Jewish event.

Shoah is the Hebrew word for “catastrophe”. This term specifically means the killing of nearly six million Jews in Europe by Nazi Germany and its collaborators

On Holocaust remembrance day all that were murdered are remembered in synagogues Romani people , righteous gentles, homosexuals, communists and the disabled etc

That's correct, thank you.

I did. This thread is about how kids don't know what the Holocaust is. That's a complete failure of our public education.

A bright spot in this poll is that young adults recognize a need for education about the holocaust

"A consistent bright spot across all the survey findings is the desire for Holocaust education. 64 percent of all U.S. Millennials and Gen Z believe that Holocaust education should be compulsory in school.

80 percent of all respondents believe that it is important to continue teaching about the Holocaust, in part, so that it does not happen again."

It is true the Nazis were bent on eliminating a lot gays, handicapped, Slavs, communists, socialists, Romani. Or at a minimum, enslaving them. 1.5 million Soviet POWs reputedly starved to death of sheer neglect.

But my post speaks to the Death Camps, aka Auschwitz, Treblebka, et al and the zyklon gas chambers which were intended first and foremost to provide a "final solution" to Europe's Jewish "problem"

America has may good points, but the Soviet Union defeated the Nazis at Stalingrad, and the Americans came in to stop the CP taking over all Europe.

The world history education in USA primary schools pretty much never wanders east of the Oder and Danube Rivers.

East Europe, Eurasia and East Asia are mostly a blank spot for most Americans.

Hollywood has taught us that the pivotal, watershed moment in the defeat of Nazi Germany happened at the Normandy landings

And education is a leftist dominated profession so peddle your shit somewhere else
Teachers teach what local school boards and state guidelines tell them to teach.

West coast and northern states tend to have better holocaust education than southern states.

Your hypothesis that teachers in Mississippi and South Carolina are more liberal than teachers in Washington State and Minnesota does not pass the laugh test

That's incorrect. The ' Final Solution ' was intended for everybody that the Nazis considered ' a threat to the Reich ' It's a documented fact that they rated gypsies just as ' dangerous ' as Jews and treated them accordingly. They forced many into the Warsaw Ghetto, along with Jews. You didn't have to be Jewish to get gassed .

Moron post. We were giving the soviets a shit ton of equipment. Pulled german army from the east, and occupied Japan's time so they wouldn't invade the east of the ussr.

If that is true, we would have to assume Encyclopedia Britannica is wrong. They state that the Final Solution was the Nazi's response to the "Jewish Question".

On the flip side, none of the crimes against humanity in WW 2 should be ignored. The rape of Nanking, the fire bombing of Japan, the slaughter of millions of Slavic peoples by Nazi invaders

Yes- that's the ' accepted ' narrative, but it's incorrect in that it omits to mention all the others on the Nazi death lists. I'm not going to post all the photographs here but a quick search of ' Gypsy victims of the death camps ' will put the record straight for anybody with the stomach to delve into it.

I think it is fairly common knowlege that Nazis killed many people of supposed subhuman origins, including Romani, Slavs, etc. If it is not widely known, it should be

There's a ton of historical facts that Millennials and Zoomers can't recite. They're not doing it out of denial.

True. But that is true of all younger generations the farther we go back in history. Today's older citizens know about WWII but little about WWI.

Historical associations have articles from the 1800s bemoaning the lack of historical knowledge of the youth of that day.
