Perhaps this should have been placed in the "She's Finished" thread, but House Democrats are convincing the American public to not put a Democrat in the White House.

158 Democrats Voted Against Deporting ‘Non-Citizens’ Who Commit Violence Against Women​

One-hundred fifty-eight House Democrats voted Wednesday against a resolution put forward by South Carolina Republican Rep. Nancy Mace that would designate noncitizens convicted of sex offenses or domestic violence inadmissible to and deportable from the U.S.

Two-hundred fifteen Republicans voted in favor of the Violence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act, with no one in the party opposing it. Meanwhile, only 51 Democrats voted in favor of the resolution, with 158 voting against it. Mace, who introduced the resolution, told the Daily Caller that “158 Left-wing members of Congress just voted against deporting rapists, pedophiles and murderers of women and kids.”

Meanwhile, Democrats have been largely silent on their vote against the resolution. In May, House Judiciary Committee Ranking Member Jerry Nadler explained his opposition to Mace’s resolution, saying the bill is “dangerous.”

This Story is a reprint from the Daily Caller which is post on the MSN site. And if you look on the left above the picture, you will see "Opinion by Henry Rodgers" Also the Daily Caller is a questionable site for factual reporting.

When I look online there is a dearth of actual analysis of the legislation or any real reasons why someone might vote against it. What I tend to find in cases where a large group of legislators on one side or the other specifically DON'T support bills that OSTENSIBLY are well-intentioned is that there is something else going on behind the scenes. Ie: there is something toxic about the bill or its implementation.

I mean, pretty clearly this legislation has been proposed NOT because the GOP suddenly cares about women's lives but rather to score a political point in a race that is CENTERING on the Right's systematic demonization of all immigrants who are from Meso and South America.

So, barring the presentation of any ACTUAL information or analysis about this I'd say you are, as usual, being spun up by the Right Wing Machine.

Don't feel bad....we do it on the Left all the time. We propose legislation that, on the surface, seems to be pro-puppy, pro-rainbow and pro-all good things but there's something toxic to the Right buried in the legislation and you guys look like you are suddenly "anti-puppy".

Both sides play the game. Don't be overly swayed by an opinion piece form some random webpage.
 
Also looks like it is essentially redundant without adding anything. People can already be deported for those offenses as I understand it and this legislation does nothing to expand protection against domestic violence.

It's really more likely that this was just entered for "show value" so the GOP can spin up some outrage over nothing really.

Many on the left felt it was just another political move to banner the right’s immigration apocalypse ahead of the election, and if the right was really serious about the issue they would do something about the actual immigration system rather than just pimping it. Given Mace was the proposal’s author, not a all wrong suspicion, probably born in MaraLago
