Thank you. I don't care what letter you have next to your name, if you are in high political office you generally have ambition to be higher and aren't going to let someone from the outside come in and take a position you want.

The Republican cabinet officer who was held out and not put on that plane.

The answer to your question would depend on what party controls and House and Senate. If it is today I don't think there is an answer since the Succession Act only goes through the cabinet officers.

You're obviously one of the brighter bulbs on this board. So you need to use some caution with Pelosi. The best of all worlds is to find a candidate with very good looks and enough smarts to handle the job. The Dem. voters are also very susceptible to the 'good looks syndrome' that effects voters more than any other single issue. Remember, it's the biggest reason why Hillary couldn't beat Trump.

Elizabeth Warren is super intelligent and could be a good choice as the Dem candidate for president.

But

It may be too late because she's getting older and losing those good looks. And that means the Hillary syndrome comes into play. Now is the time for the Dems to cultivate a candidate with at least average intelligence and very good looks. {b] That is absolutely the recipe for the Dem candidate for president's success! [/b]

And fwiw, that is exaclly what should be fought against by those who understand the Dems are just going to prolong the agony!
