Plastics are a real danger to life on the planet. https://www.nationalgeographic.com/environment/habitats/plastic-pollution/ It just gets worse every year.
In most public venues, such as shopping malls, they have both trash cans and recycling bins, up here in Warshington. Obviously, nothing goes into them rinsed, which has always mystified me.
Yes, they have them here also...... Ever notice how well they are working??
They still need to be sorted, & they are not..
Here we have Republic, one of the largest trash/recycle companies in the USA.......
We have 3 cans, one for organic waste (trees, lawn clippings etc) which I don't use so I save a few bucks, then recycle which is supposedly the cleaned cans & plastic but whatever else goes in as well, & then reg trash.......
If ppl have those cans & bottles mixed or bagged, they are not recycled, they are moved to the land fill-so even if the garb bag is filled w/ aluminum cans, they will not open it=garbage...
We have old women that come around on recycle/trash night & take the cans out so Republic does not supplement their costs/profits which I was pissed about until I learned that these old women were @ least making a few bucks & keeping it out of the land fill..
But the only way government can do this is through legislation and corporate regulation, both of which the Republicans feverishly oppose as "government overreach." Look at how they bitch when the government tries to reduce C02 pollution.
Corporations generally like regulations because it makes the cost of entry for competition high, regulations favor the large established players, and the corporate class long ago completely corrupted Washington. That is why regulations exploded in the decades before Trump even as the R's lied to the voters claiming that they favor small government and less regulation. The fact the legacy R's are such lying fucks is why Trump was able to win, the people finally got to "ENOUGH!".
You seem ignorant of what is going on, I suspect that you have a profound information sourcing problem.
Corporations hate regulations. https://slate.com/business/2011/02/businesses-don-t-like-regulation-what-else-is-new.html
You have been lied to Son.
