His mistake appears to be not adjusting for inflation between the 2002 Bowling for Columbine and the 2026 Melania.

Sounds like a Trump endeavor.
It was a bribe from Bezos to Trump for government AI contracts.

Development

The idea of a documentary about Melania Trump, the wife of Donald Trump, was either pitched by her to Jeff Bezos during a dinner at Mar-a-Lago in 2024, or she pitched it to Marc Beckman, her senior adviser and manager, after the 2024 presidential election.[12] She signed on as an executive producer for a documentary about her days after the election.[13] Melania said her impetus was a warm reception to her 2024 memoir.[14] Melania stated that it was not a documentary, but instead "a created experience" and "purposeful storytelling".[15]

Threads like this are public masturbation for these leftists. It's inane to to start a thread about a movie losing money. The only point is to mock trump and cream his shorts. There is no point to be made.
So grifting while in office does not matter to you in the slightest. If Joe or Jill Biden had accepted a $26 million dollar payment to sell their movie rights while serving in office, you would have been howling from the rooftops.
All MAGAts are White Nationalists and domestic enemies of the Constitution. They support their Leader in everything he chooses to do.

Having a hard to reading standard English?

I explicitly said in the OP I was inflation-adjusting all gross ticket sales to 2026 dollars, so a valid and fair comparison could be made between movies from different eras.

Maybe you just don't understand inflation.
IOW... bullshit, madeup numbers.

Meanwhile, "Melania" hits #1 on Amazon.....

Grok, like most JPP MAGAts is an elderly, demented Euro-American male whose lug nuts are no longer properly torqued.

Hey Einstein, if you don't inflation adjust box office grosses from different eras, then we would have to say 2025's 'How to Train Your Dragon' outperformed the initial theatrical release of Star Wars in 1976. Which would be fucking stupid.
My best advice is to not try to rationalize with irrational people. It'll only make you as crazy as them.

I've got my Prime app open right now, and it says Malaria is number 4, and that's only after massive publicity and marketing.
....plus it's now free to Prime users.

If Amazon suddenly sees a rise in subscribers, then I'll be impressed.

FWIW, the movie is boring. The only people who might be interested in it are those who want to live the life of the rich vicariously or MAGAt suckups.

Good point.

After the massive promotion Amazon gave it, opening at number 4 on Prime is nothing to cheer about. I mean Malaria is trailing behind a Sherlock Holmes series and a couple of less than noteworthy crime dramas.

There's a curiosity factor such as my viewing. I'm curious to know how many actually, and consciously, sat through the entire 1H44M movie verses speeding through it like I did?

I'm guessing most snoozed through it. It's really fucking boring.
