It doesnt even work all that well in Sweden anymore. The massive influx of Arabs has assured its failure.

That's a completely different issue. The point is that free stuff doesn't cause less freedom. I'd say it causes the opposite, because it empowers the working-class.

Duh. "Free stuff" generally refers to things that the working-class gets, which the rich pay for. In order to use Medicare, the working-class pays in to it.
Now if Medicare was free to anyone making under like $500,000 a year, then you could use that as an example.
I think the working class should work and buy their own stuff instead of demanding someone provide it for them. Its a sense of accomplishment thing.

That's nice from an emotion-based ideological point of view, but if you want more freedom and a better economy, it's better to level the playing field.
Same goes for cops. Maybe we shouldn't have cops because everyone should defend themselves. There's a sense of accomplishment there.
But no, having cops just works better because we live in a society, not the Hunger Games.

Well that's good for you, but because we live in a society, most of us care about other people. That's why we have cops and that's why we should have free healthcare.

When someone says it's "free" they really mean they want the 1% to pay for it, which is good.
Again, we can go into ideology and feels over reals, but the most important point is that having the 1% pay for welfare programs improves the country. That's why America does better under Democrats.
