During Huckabee's tenure in Arkansas he did raise taxes. But he spent wisely and got things done. I was traveling across that desolate state on a pretty regular basis and was cussing (not literally) the whole construction mess then, but now I can breeze across that state on extremely good roads because of his tax increase. There are a couple of things I dislike about the man. One thing is that he was/is for school consolidation which I am absolutely against.
You can say what you want but he ain't no Bush. I don't care if he does have some of the same religious beliefs Bush is/was supposed to have, they aren't at all the same. Bush talked about "compassionate conservativism" a few years back.......Huckabee made it work in Arkansas.
Now you can go dig up all the negative stuff about the state of Arkansas you want but I'm telling you he left most all of the people better off than what they were when he took office.
