How I've Warmed Up To Unions

No, it's a double standard on your part. Businesses form cooperatives, marts, joint ventures, etc, all the time, so that they can leverage the markets to maximize their value for their products and services. Professionals do the same thing with their Professional socieites, (e.g. AMA, AMSE, The BAR Association, etc). So if it's ok for them to combine their resources why is it not ok for laborers and skilled trade and craftsman to do the same? You're not making a lot of sense here. You're saying it's ok for businesses to do one thing but it's not ok for workers to do the same thing? That makes no sense.
My professional organization doesn't set pay scales. *shrug*

That's all well and good but the logical flaw of your argument is that it's ok for businesses and companies to pool their resources and negotiate advantages that allow them to maximize what they can charge the market but if laborers do the same thing that's socialism. We no, it's not. It's a double standard on your behalf.
It's illegal for business to fix prices in a market. *shrug*

It makes you wonder if these idiots here even know what that means.

My personal experiences with unions sucked. I was let go because I produced too much during my hours on the job and my fellow workers didn't want to be expected to perform at levels I could. union slugs. union people drive the cost of everything up and then have the nerve to whine about "scabs" who work circles around their fat lazy asses.

Unions are for worthless people who have to band together and bully their employers because their work ethic sucks so bad they'd be fired otherwise. Unions are for idiots who lack the drive to make their own opportunites.

No shit my grandfather refused to join the union at the factory that he worked prior to the Depression. When it hit the company had pay cuts, followed by lay offs, then more pay cuts, then more lay offs. Every time he re-doubled his work effort. He was among the last standing when they finally went bankrupt and they delivered his office furniture to his house as a good bye gift. (I still have his old desk and it's one of my prized possessions.) The next day he was working for that company's competitor. He never went a day without a job during the Depression.

Oh, that's real convincing. "Your" experience was bad, and therefore all unions are bad.

Yo, I actually think that an angry internet poster, who has a habit of yelling "fuck you niggers!", probably has a personality that alienates people. Your "problem" with your union brothers probably had more to do with your personality than any professional shit.

So your contention is that firefighters, nurses, and police are lazy and their work ethic sucks because they belong to unions?

What a fucking idiot you are.

Cypress I agree with u on all those slams. What union stocks do you own.

LOL, good one shorty!

I have no idea Topper. I have a gold-plated, union pension plan. A pension plan that even my conservative co-workers would never trade in a million years for a shitty 401(k).

Weird how conservatives worship unions.....but only when it benefits them personally.

Actually unions are ruined now that they have a seat in the boardroom.

now the union leadership is even more in a position of being paid off to exploit they're own members.

now no organization truly represents workers.

Joe dirt, I'm more liberal than you. I just like making money too.
