Your entire viewpoint is predicated on a falsehood. Conservatives are not for "cheap labor" but rather, "efficient labor" or more bluntly, "profitable labor." Pro-business, does not automatically denote Anti-labor. Yet, that is how you, as a pinhead liberal, have been programmed to think. From there, all of your arguments are based on a misunderstanding, and therefore, inherently flawed.
We no longer have a private-sector manufacturing industry to speak of... we can't afford to do it! A corporation has to endure more and more regulations, requirements, taxes... deal with unions, contract negotiations, insurance and benefits, just for their labor expense. A typical American union worker is making $45 an hour to do what a Japanese worker does for $3. This makes American production cost prohibitive. That's not to say we should pay manufacturing sector workers $3 an hour... but we can't pay them $45 with guarantees of unlimited increases forever. That's what we've done!
Because you have such a warped and ignorant view of Conservatives, you have convinced yourself that all corporations are evil and just out to screw everyone. They are like Homer Simpson's Boss... Greedy, Cold, Uncaring, without a soul. Like Scrooge in the Dickens epic. It's a stereotype, a preconceived notion of how an entire group of people are, how they are to be viewed by you, in your world perspective. Do you see what you have become? A bigot. Now, I know you are open-minded and don't intend to be a bigot, so I am going to try to steer you straight here. Not all conservatives are greedy mean careless people without regard for their fellow man. Not by a long shot! In fact, I would say that particular type of conservative is rare.
Most conservatives I know, myself included, believe in the power of the individual, and free market capitalism. A well-qualified and competent employee is valuable, and worth whatever amount of income he is able to obtain for himself. Conservatives believe everyone is an entrepreneur, if nothing else, you have yourself to sell. Whatever you do. Conservatives believe our wonderful freedoms and free enterprise, along with entrepreneurial spirit, is what made America great. We seek for every individual to enjoy that and participate in it.
My dream as a young man, was to be my own boss, to work for myself. I realized that dream, and for nearly 30 years, I answered to no one. I was the boss. I did really well for myself, I have never been afraid to jump in and take a chance, I have the confidence to know I can make it work. Yeah, I've had a few obstacles and disasters along the way, but all-in-all, I've lived my life the way I wanted to, and enjoyed the things I desired in life. What more could someone ask for?
Sadly to say, if I had it all to do over again, if I were 20 years old and had my whole life ahead of me, I don't know that I could have done it. The burden of government on free market capitalism has become a major pitfall, and liberal SOCIALISTS continue to try and tear down free markets and free enterprise. You had rather have a system that rewards compliance and acceptance, in exchange for a sense of entitled equality, mandated by a central government.
