How many speeches???

now you see why I call him Hugo Obama..he is acting just like him..he has given over 125 speeches already with only being on the job 8 months..today he was at the unions...as he was last week, what does that tell you and who he cares about..it certainly isn't the rest of the people in the country, only the ones who voted for him..

I think people are getting sick of this already, and that is a good thing for us and the country..

Given that NONE of the five versions is deficit neutral and the fact that NO changes to correct that have been proposed, it is entirely misleading to be out stating that there will be no increase in the deficit. If Obama wants to actually put forth a way to accomplish this goal and then wants to push for it to be included in the bill, then that would be different. But thus far he has done no such thing. He simply keeps stating their will be no increase and his adoring masses lap it up.

He is deliberately misleading the American public based on the 5 versions now available. As I recall, when Bush deliberately mislead the public that equated to a lie. Has that suddenly changed now that the President has a (D) after his name?

1) Obama has pledged not to sign a bill that increase the deficit. Until he signs a bill that increases the deficit, he has not lied or misled anyone. If you are correct that none of the bills are deficit neutral (I'm not sure you are correct on the Senate Finance Committee bill) then you simply have a pledge that Obama will not sign any of the bills in their present form.

2) Bush lied.

It is not the fact that he is giving a speech it is the fact that is all he appears to be doing.

He was just on national TV giving his pro-Obamacare speech. Now he has to go out to his various union lobbyists and do the same again? Are there no other more important issues he has to address?

Yeah, because you're used to seeing what the president does 24/7 or something?

The guy gives one speech a day or so and you suddenly think he's incapable of accomplishing anything else that day?

WTF is wrong with you?

Obama: Going to Great Lengths to Get His Message Out

Have you got a show on community access cable? Do you post videos on Twitter? Planning a meeting of your garden club?

You may be hearing from the White House to book the president on it.

Determined to overcome opposition to his health care plan, President Obama wants all the exposure he can to make the case for his health care plan.

This Sunday, he's taking the unprecedented of step of appearing on five – count 'em – five Sunday talk shows.

It's exceedingly rare for a sitting U.S. president to appear on a single Sunday morning public affairs program once or twice during his term in office. It's unheard of for president to do five on the same day. Mr. Obama will be seen Sunday on ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC and Univision. Fox is conspicuous by its absence from the list. .

The White House declined to explain its exclusion of Fox, but Mr. Obama is very aware that the Fox broadcast network, which airs Fox News Sunday, did not air his health care address last week to a joint session of Congress. In recent days he's joked about Fox's decision when asking audiences about his speech.

"I don't know if any of you caught it on television - you may have been watching "So You Think You Can Dance," he said of Fox, though he added that "Michelle loves that show, by the way."

The Fox News Channel did carry the Obama speech, but the Obama White House feels more ill-treated by Fox News that any other TV network.:crybaby:

As if five Sunday TV appearances aren't enough, Mr. Obama will be David Letterman's only guest on his Monday night show. It's rare, but not unprecedented. Mr. Obama appeared with Jay Leno on The Tonight Show last March.

These newly scheduled appearances come a week after Mr. Obama appeared in the lead segment on "60 Minutes," and sat for interviews Monday with CNBC and Bloomberg

Talk about desperation...

I'd just note for the record that the bill released by Max Baucus today not only does not add to the deficit but actually reduces the deficit over time according to the CBO:

According to CBO and JCT’s assessment, enacting the Chairman’s proposal would result in a net reduction in federal budget deficits of $49 billion over the 2010–2019 period (see Table 1). The estimate includes a projected net cost of $500 billion over 10 years for the proposed expansions in insurance coverage. That net cost itself reflects a gross total of $774 billion in credits and subsidies provided through the exchanges, increased net outlays for Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), and tax credits for small employers; those costs are partly offset by $215 billion in revenues from the excise tax on high-premium insurance plans and $59 billion in revenues from other sources. The net cost of the coverage expansions would be more than offset by the combination of other spending changes that CBO estimates would save $409 billion over the 10 years and other tax provisions that JCT and CBO estimate would increase federal revenues by $139 billion over the same period. In subsequent years, the collective effect of those provisions would probably be continued reductions in federal budget deficits.

I eagerly anticipate SF's retraction. If he fails to apologize to this forum for his conduct I will consider sponsoring a censure resolution.

With a quick read through and a notice of your lack of acknowledging the caveats, this is interesting, indeed.

I think you're exaggerating about the number. And when he left the spotlight to go on vacation for a week, righties p*ssed and moaned about that also. You guys are never happy. :pke:
